I knew it.

In the Early 2000, I found myself leading worship in a small church in Ohio, when I came across Andrew Peterson. The First Line, "Jamie would you mind driving down this road awhile, Arizona's caught me by surprise. Rich is on the radio..." I was hooked.

This guy knew my heart.

Jump ahead 24 years, a lot of hurt and grace later, and I am taking to one of my karate students about the book series they are reading and decide, to connect with this kid over our love of books. Rabbits? I loved them.

Finally, my daughter, in Bible college is a signed a book to read, and I say, "I am intrigued."

Andrew Peterson, you connected to my heart. I cried through the first few chapters as I realized a piece of me, the song writer I used to be was crying out from the dark resources of my soul to be let out into the light.

Between all the worries and hopes in my life, I don't know when I will write, but I know someone else knows what I am feeling. A desperate desire to be all God meant when he meant me.

Thank you, Andrew, I knew you were a kindred heart. Thank you for your honesty and hope.

I can't listen fast

I listen to a lot of books. I learn audibly so listening is my preference, but I listen to a lot of books because I can at 2 or even 3 times speed.

Not this book. There is so much depth a beauty in Bono's story, and the audio is unrivaled.

Slow down and enjoy!

Wow! Now, I understand my love of fantasy.

As a lover of fantasy literature, I finally know why.

There is a story, a true story, the true story, but it is not a story only of our natural world, but of beings and battles that are beyond it. So, in fantasy, I have often allowed myself to consider the otherworldly.

But here, in The Paradise King, Blaine has used language, history, and deep theology to retell the true story in a way that makes it more accessible to me. I have spent years studying and teaching the scriptures, and much of the historical realities of the Old testament story were not new, but the are filled out.

Lately, the stories conclusion, based in the reality that there is One Paradise King, Jesus of Nazareth, the very Son of God, has been my study, and never have I heard such an accessible understanding of what John the Revelator is teaching us. A conclusion to a world created in the midst chaos, saved by it's true King, and restored as it was meant to be, because we follow Jesus and become as we are meant to be.

Wow! Just wow!

From Interview to Book

I heard Jon's podcast interview with my favorite podcast host Carey Nieuwhof, and bought the book before the interviewer was finished.

Soundtracks was great, and Jon is the man who inspired me to write 6 books.

All it takes is a goal was a must listen. Jon reads his own books which is great, and he adds value to all his audiobooks with extras.

I am a hare, who is often busy, but rarely winning, the lessons I heard are going to help me change that.I took notes and will relisten soon to get more.

For now, you should take the time to listen to this practical guide to move from unproductive to successful.
