Historia
When a body is found draped over Swanage’s iconic Globe monument, DCI Lesley Clarke is called in. A message points to the motive: "Go home." Is this a hate crime? Or something closer to home? Lesley must find the killer before he or she strikes again, all while dealing with a mutiny in her team and political pressure from her boss. At the same time, a local journalist has been investigating the death of Lesley's predecessor—and claims to have key information. Wary of involving her team, Lesley brings in her old colleague Zoe Finch to help.

Too short!

I feel that the writer could easily write a longer more detailed story. I have had to relisten as it seemed I missed a few things, and found that story was rushed and missing details.

great story ... creepy male voices!

Carl and Rodry sound a bit pervy and detract from the story. Great consideration needs to be taken or an amazing story will be lost ... as in this case

Historia
DS Hutton returns in a blisteringly brutal crime novel that obliterates the line between thriller and horror, and elevates the Hutton series to the upper echelons of contemporary noir fiction. Three people are dead. Murdered. Each one bound and gagged in a forest, the top of the skull removed, their exposed brain picked at by crows. If they were lucky, they died quickly. DS Hutton has been on sick leave for several months, living on the side of a Scottish mountain. However, the Plague of Crows has arrived, all hands are on deck and Hutton is summoned back to duty.

Writer gives enough to hook you in, but then seems to skip huge chunks of info. A cliff notes story. Reader is horrible on accents and changing voices character to character.

Story idea great!
Revisado: 08-30-21
I struggled to finish this. The story idea was great, but it was hard to follow along. Characters blended and I had to relisten to many areas as I couldn't tell who was saying what. The segways between chapters and characters was blurry and very choppy. Also, I felt more was left out of the story than was told. The character voices was not upheld good enough to know who was speaking. I've noticed a disturbing trend with this author to start off detailed then rush to finish. Very disappointing.

sad to say but this author left a lot unsaid. The story is choppy in parts, especially towards the end and leaves you trying to figure out why. I'm going to follow the series, but it could have been so so much better.

Historia
Investigative journalist Laura Chambers is back in her tiny hometown of Hillsborough, North Carolina, the one place she swore never to return. Fired from The Boston Globe, her career in shambles, she reluctantly takes a job with the local paper. The work is simple, unimportant, and worst of all, boring - at least until a missing girl turns up dead, the body impeccably clean, dressed to be the picture of innocence. Years earlier, 10-year-old Patty Finch left home and never made it back. But for the people of Hillsborough, Patty was just the beginning.
