Know What You Believe has helped countless new and longtime believers understand the basic truths of their Christian faith. Historia
For an accurate picture of how the political, social, and religious structure of present-day Europe came to be-and even why we're speaking English today-studying the key events between the years 500 and 1500 is of critical import. These 24 gripping lectures deliver an unparalleled look at these moments that profoundly changed the arc of history, and they weave the era's vast array of disparate events into an interconnected tapestry that illuminates why nothing exists in a vacuum.

nice presentation, but sadly lacking balance
Revisado: 04-10-23
The prof provides interesting insight but leaves obvious contradictions in her presentation unanswered, even ignored as if there were no contradictions. Be ready for a pleasant presentation if you are NOT a thinker. However, if you ARE a thinker, know that this is a rather slanted (politically biased, religiously biased, socially biased) take on history that has a Marxist undercurrent and lacks logical coherence.

Historia
Having grown up in church, an alarming percentage of people have now traded in the timeless beliefs of Scripture for a more comfortable, postmodern faith or secular worldview. They have waded so deep into the culture that the current has swept them away with the pluralism of biblical compromise and secular indoctrination.

Hardly long enough to be an INTRODUCTION
Revisado: 10-24-21
Although this says it is a book, it is so short that it seems to be the opening paragraphs of what could have been an interesting essay. alas it leaves MUCH to be desired.

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

I'm not buying her ideas on Bathsheeba
Revisado: 10-17-20
While most of the stories were believable and plausible considering what scriptures give us, I vehemently disagree with the author's portrayal of David and Bathsheeba. I work with women and children who have been abused and this is a slap in the facw of every woman who has suffered at the hands of those in power. The author needs to talk with women who have been used; if she had shw would never have blamed Bathsheeba the way she did.

Historia
For 300 years, The Pilgrim's Progress has remained perhaps the best-loved and most read of devotional fictions. In plain yet powerful and moving language, Bunyan tells the story of Christian's struggle to attain salvation and the Gates of Heaven. He must pass through the Slough of Despond, ward off the temptations of Vanity Fair, and fight the monstrous Apollyon. In Part II, his wife and children follow the same path, helped and protected by Great-heart, until for them, too, "the trumpets sound on the other side."

Clearly this is a classic
Revisado: 08-24-20
The story has so many of layers that coordinate and align wirh life it is easy to see why this is such a popular classic for so many years. The reader does a fair job. He does a great job of accentuateing the story. It would be better if he pronounced key words correctly. ( slough is pronounced "slou' rhymes with Lou). Overall a good listen.
