I really was looking forward to this book because the plotline sounded great, but everything was so drawn out and wordy that it lost the romantic adventure. I also wasn’t a fan of the time jumps to the past then to the present. I felt that we could have easily started when they were young, skipped to the next big year, and so on. I got easily confused and lost with all the back and forth. The drama seemed to be the “slow burn” for this one and I’m just not a fan. The resolve seemed to be water in a hot pan and sizzled through to the end. This book felt forced, which I’m disappointed about because it really had potential.

As for the narrative; I felt we were stuck more in Ellie’s point of view than anything and this storyline felt like it needed more of Oliver’s POV, but the narrators did well with what they had to work with.

I loved the idea and the start of this book. It just ended up having a very long middle…and ending.
It felt like there were a lot of things thrown into the mix and there were vague answers at times.
I guessed what would happen and though I wasn’t completely right and pleasantly surprised I was wrong, there were still a few things left hanging.
I overall liked the storyline and as looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

The narrative part of this book wasn’t great. The female did a much better job than the male seeing as how at times you couldn’t tell who was talking, but she at least made it clear with emotion. His feminine voice would pop up when it was supposed to be him or another male talking and it became very confusing.

I enjoyed this audiobook but I got very confused sometimes when the male narrator went from a girls voice to his bothers and it was in the same tone. The female narrator was great and I thought the two went well together, even with some confusion thrown in.

As for the book there were a lot of good things about this storyline, but a few things I thought were drawn out longer than they should have been, but overall it was an enjoyable listen.

I really enjoyed the plot and romance of this book. Some things threw me off and made me lose sight of the scene or what was happening, but overall I really enjoyed the romance between Addy and Crew.
There were a few times I was distracted by the third or fourth person’s POV instead of the main characters, and it took me a moment to realize who’s head I was in instead.
The narrators did well for the most part, though sometimes I did get confused on who was talking when it came to multiple people being in one scene.
I loved Harry and her antics, I’m not sure what it is but I always fall in love with the animals who have extra personality!

There was a feeling of this being a movie without physically being able to see it. There were times I was annoyed with the stumbling over words because it seemed like it shouldn’t have been there, but overall I loved the concept and storyline for this romance and would definitely read/listen to another by this author.

Audio review: 3 Times the Heat by Sapphire Knight

Loved the promise of this story but I didn’t feel the narrators were a good fit for the characters. They seemed to echo and every word felt drawn out; it distracted from the story. I think the story itself had the potential, I loved the beginning to this book.
From the moment Shyla and Clyde got together it seemed the story lost its umph, like their lives were just being read and not felt. The potential seemed to dwindle.
So as much as I love this author and I wanted to really love this book, I couldn’t connect with it like I have other romances through her words.

I almost didn’t finish this audiobook. There were parts that I heard and instantly felt like it wasn’t for me, but I kept listening, feeling invested already. I won’t give away spoilers as to why I felt that way, so the next reader can make their own decision.
I kept listening and by the end I felt as though there was something missing, like there was a big build up then the roof was left open.
This had a lot of potential and the plot was intriguing, but it ended up being not for me after all.
I would love to try another book by this author though, so I’ll move on to the next book.

I originally bought this as a paperback for my niece, but when I saw it was included in my audible subscription I had to listen.
Luke and Jane aren’t your average romance couple, but they have chemistry that is off the charts. I loved the roller coaster of this HEA and definitely recommend reading (or listening!)

I loved the first two books of this series so I was really looking forward to Locke and Ember’s story. There was so much promise and potential for this book and it seemed to be going that way but then it didn’t. I felt the author put in a lot of fillers, then dangled hints of outcomes just to go in a completely different and disappointing direction for this love story. Some of the chapters I could definitely have skipped over and feel like I didn’t miss anything.
There were also a drastic change in Ember where she went from strong and independent to naive and not the girl I thought she was.
I liked the little bits of humor and drama woven through, even if Locke seemed more like a lost boy than a bad boy alpha.
I want there to be more books in this series so I can give it another chance.

Audible: I truly enjoyed the narrative of this book, though toward the end it seemed like Locke was voiced by a different guy than who started.

First I want to say that I absolutely adore this story of Grace and Thaddeus! They are truly a romance I loved reading about.

I didn’t click with the narrators at all, though. I felt the male was way older, didn’t have a hint of Italian accent, and was very monotone. I just couldn’t imagine him as Thaddeus. I didn’t know his name at the time but I’ve had an issue with him reading other books as well. The female narrator was better, her male voice was better too, but again I just couldn’t imagine her as Grace. When they would read to each other (like a real conversation) it felt forced an awkward.

I was disappointed with the audio, but loved the story enough to listen through.
