Historia
The Two Towers is the second volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic saga, The Lord of the Rings. The Fellowship has been forced to split up. Frodo and Sam must continue alone towards Mount Doom, where the One Ring must be destroyed. Meanwhile, at Helm’s Deep and Isengard, the first great battles of the War of the Ring take shape. In this splendid, unabridged audio production of Tolkien’s great work, all the inhabitants of a magical universe - hobbits, elves, and wizards - spring to life. Rob Inglis’ narration has been praised as a masterpiece of audio.

Historia
Who formed the first literate society? Who invented our modern ideas of democracy and free market capitalism? The Scots. As historian and author Arthur Herman reveals, in the 18th and 19th centuries Scotland made crucial contributions to science, philosophy, literature, education, medicine, commerce, and politics - contributions that have formed and nurtured the modern West ever since. This book is not just about Scotland: it is an exciting account of the origins of the modern world.

Grateful for my Scottish ancestors and their legacy.
Revisado: 12-22-23
I have started a printed copy of this book a couple of times and each time something gets between me and finishing it.
So glad it’s audible!
Well substantiated history. So wonderfully read!
I think it is time for the classical education system of the 1600-1890’s to return. It supplies a granite foundation that leaves the human mind versatile and flexible, well prepared for anything from the law to stem. The modern world has greatly benefited from the generations from the 1700-1900’s in ways that children just aren’t taught. Is it any wonder why society has disintegrated into the post modern tribal mess we see today?

Historia
When his picture appeared on the cover of Texas Monthly, Joaquin Jackson became the icon of the modern Texas Rangers. Nick Nolte modeled his character on him in the movie Extreme Prejudice. Jackson even had a speaking part of his own in The Good Old Boys with Tommy Lee Jones. But the role that Jackson has always played the best is that of the man who wears the silver badge cut from a Mexican cinco peso coin, a working Texas Ranger.

The story of a modern day American hero.
H. Joaquin Jackson was a Texas Ranger and I wish I had known him.
The book is a great read, can’t wait to get hold of the second/last one he wrote.
I nearly grew up in Texas, I wish my parents had made the move.
If you like old western movies, country music,
and law and order you’ll enjoy the adventure.

Historia
Born at the time of Waterloo in the wild countryside of Shropshire, England, Prudence Sarn is a passionate girl, cursed with a harelip - her “precious bane”. She is cursed for it, too, by the superstitious people among whom she lives. Prue loves two things: the remote countryside of her birthplace and, hopelessly, Kester Woodseaves, the weaver. The tale of how Kester gradually discerns Prue’s true beauty is set against the tragic drama of Prue’s brother, Gideon, a man who is out of harmony with the natural world and whose recklessness may ensnare them all in tragedy.

Real life and still not.
I can hear echoes of medieval times. Tudor maybe.
Performed so well it pulls you into a deeper level than I believe the story would by itself.
Story is sweet, sad, wrenching, and yet triumphant all at once.
A young woman who learns to love herself regardless of her “deformity”. Precious Bane is one of those books that every girl should read at around 12 or 13. I wish I had. Blessed thing to love yourself before you are old.

I pledge allegiance to the flag…
Revisado: 08-18-22
Democracy in America is a wonderful window back in time to a place that doesn’t exist.
America in her youth, Americans still a good and mostly moral people.
My heart hurts for the country I love. How sad if we let her slip away.
Some things are much better. We are a diverse people who I believe (from 9/11/2001) love each other as brothers. Something happened though and we have been tricked into thinking we are not brothers and nothing has changed since Jim Crow was finally choked out in 1964. I remember though what it looked like, some places were slower than others to change.
I love America she has freed more people from oppression and raised more people out of poverty than ANY nation in human history. If you were taught anything less than you were lied to. The last century alone is proof of that truth. Please read and study before it is too late. When America passes away, she will not come again.
We only have one chance to save her and the free world at the same time; let us find our brotherhood again and save what Providence has so graciously provided. God bless America.

Historia
The horse Susan Richards chose for rescue wouldn't be corralled into her waiting trailer. Instead, Lay Me Down, a former racehorse with a foal close on her heels, walked right up that ramp and into Susan's life. This gentle creature, malnourished, plagued by pneumonia and an eye infection, had endured a rough road, but somehow her heart was still open and generous.

What we are living through now has been planned for the last twenty years. Fauci and Gates are absolutely the king-pins of the DC swamp and must face the music soon. Robert KennedyJr. lays out the proof in clearcut no nonsense language. We must stand up and make it clear We the People have reached our limit of overreaching government. Clarity
Revisado: 12-13-21
I have been an avid reader of CS Lewis since 1999. I began where most people do with the Chronicles of Narnia. Mere Christianity and the Great Divorce opened my mind and heart in ways I still can barely explain. For explanation of Lewis’s deeper picture and understanding of God; and that which was nearly foundational to his belief The Search for God gives wonderful insight and a clarity I truly appreciate.
