This book keeps going from bad to good and back. The main plots twist is a stretch, but when it's good, it's actually very good.

Historia
Jack Torrance's new job at the Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start. As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he'll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing. But as the harsh winter weather sets in, the idyllic location feels ever more remote...and more sinister. And the only one to notice the strange and terrible forces gathering around the Overlook is Danny Torrance, a uniquely gifted five-year-old.

Classic Stephen King
Revisado: 12-26-20
It was tame for Stephen King, but even though it was easy to firgure out, it left an opening for a sequel. I first read this when I was a kid, and now I am in my late twenties. I still haven't read the sequel called Dr. Sleep. I look forward to reading it. The narrator takes about 5 minutes to get used to, but then he's pretty good. This is an iconic book!

Historia
It is the morning after the storm. Thick fog covers everything. In the stifling, claustrophobic atmosphere, Howie and his group head out for supplies. Skirmishes and tense fights take place and there are messages left in blood at key sites: 'he's coming'. As the day progresses, Howie becomes increasingly darker in thought, and more demanding of his team. By the end of the day they have discovered a munitions factory, but can Howie hold it together?

What happened?
Revisado: 11-16-20
One of the biggest problems I have with this Undead book is the new narrator. Also, the new character in this one is basically a copy of a better character that has been in this series since book 1. Why did the author suddenly feel like having a political correctness lecture about joking half way through the 11th book? The author has been joking like that in every book. They are just jokes. In my opinion, most of the jokes are funny and give personality to some of the characters. The author did do a good job in the part where the enemy used psychological warfare in the fog. To end , I would give all previous 10 books 5 stars.

Historia
After the War of the Gods, the demons were cast out and fell to the world. Mankind was nearly eradicated by the seemingly unstoppable beasts until the gods sent the great hero, Ramrowan, to save them. He united the tribes, gave them magic, and drove the demons into the sea. Ever since, the land has belonged to man, and the oceans have remained an uncrossable hell, leaving the continent of Lok isolated.

Not what I expected!
Revisado: 10-16-20
At first it seems like it's one message and nothing else, but as you get further into the book , you see a lot of slow changes. It begins to have a few meanings and positive ideas. I was also surprised at a couple of parts. Overall, it's very well written with some of the ideas relevant to issues today.

Not one of the best books by a Japanese writer
Revisado: 10-16-20
The author contradicts herself alot. It also feels like maybe this was originally not a novel, but a series for a magazine. The narrator was amazing.

Not worth the cost
Revisado: 07-27-20
The potential is great, but the author drops the ball too many times. The narrator also is not very good. The ending was anticlimactic and the author never answers 90% of the concepts he brought up. Also it seems like he didn't have it proof read.

Not as good as his other works!
Revisado: 07-02-20
He didn't seem to pay as much attention to detail as he usually does. Some things weren't related to the story. It's an ok book, just not his normal level.

Historia
In this, the first prose history in European civilization, Herodotus describes the growth of the Persian Empire with force, authority, and style. Perhaps most famously, the book tells the heroic tale of the Greeks' resistance to the vast invading force assembled by Xerxes, king of Persia. Here are not only the great battles - Marathon, Thermopylae, and Salamis - but also penetrating human insight and a powerful sense of epic destiny at work.

The author did very well investing and getting most of the facts correct. However, a few things he didn't investigate, believing them to be correct.
