what a terribly boring book with zero storyline. You can listen to the last 30 seconds of each chapter and you'll know the whole book. The rest of it is just each character's inner thoughts drowning on chapter after chapter after chapter....

Why can't authors keep their personal politics out of their books?

Jack Carr yesterday And now these guys today. I don't care if you're a Trump supporter but listening to a whole book about how the president and vice president are illegally in bed with China and doing everything wrong is not what I paid for. not only that but the way they depict the president in this book is ridiculous. quite honestly the only president in our history that would flippantly call a sub by the wrong name is Donald j Trump. I'm just so disappointed at two of my favorite series are done because they just can't get over it. I'll never be able to buy another book by either author because I don't know what I'm going to get. It's really disappointing And it really shows the right wing bias against women and minorities when you listen to how these authors depict them being treated. The president is not going to sit in the situation room thinking how he hates his black female cabinet member but had to pick her because it's good for the ticket. this is ridiculous and it ruined a great series

an author that is obviously stuck on Trump losing the election in 2020. get over it!

All this work does is attack the media, attack Democrats, attack women while praising China. It's too bad because I was a huge Jack Carr fan but this will be the first book of his I return and the last one I buy. If you're so insecure you can't keep your personal beliefs out of your story then I don't need to read it.

maybe I've just listened to too many in this genre but this just felt like a lazy cash grab. something to pass the time I guess but I wouldn't recommend it.

sometimes bad books can be saved by good narrators and vice versa but this narration is ridiculous! nothing like listening to a monotone computer read your story. what a money grubbing joke!

I just can't listen to books in which private paramilitary operations are developed to protect us on our soil. we have them military we don't need a bunch of rednecks with guns whether they have combat experience or not. unfortunately there's a better chance those type of militias end up fighting against us in this day and age rather than with us.

what a disappointing book!

One of my all-time favorite series but this book is just one long fight scene. stories with no real plot always feel the entire book with nonsense and fight scenes. there's no suspense or intrigue cuz you know the main character isn't going to die at the beginning of the book so the first 20 chapters of one fight after another it's just a waste of time. what a joke

Nelson DeMille is probably my all-time favorite author and I'm only at chapter 6 so maybe this will get better but so far it's nothing but inner monologue. I don't need to here every thought that crosses the main character's mind. I never do abridged books but this one could definitely be cut down. really hoping it gets better from here...

I've never listened to so many words put together that equal up to nothing. I finally quit listening with like 2 hours left because the whole book is just somebody reminiscing about something and then somebody else sitting on the couch reminiscing about something and then somebody else sitting on their couch reminiscing about something else. there is no storyline or anything that happens in the present. what a joke! I don't usually right reviews but if I can help one person not buy this junk then I've helped them.
