Totally sophomoric dialogue

I almost can't believe I survived this book. I actually kept going at about the halfway point to just make fun of the moronic dialogue and the over the top drama queen hysterical narration. Seriously. I wasn't looking for literary brilliance and historically significant fiction when I bought a "thriller" by Jackson, but she really outdid herself in this one, scraping the absolute bottom of the barrel. It is far and away the worst of her books I have listened to. Don't waste the credit.

By the middle of the book, I was only listening for comic value. How does someone get something this bad published??? I have rarely read something worse. Don't waste your time.

Amazing Must Read

I read his 1st book years ago and thought it a very fine read but this one far surpasses even that. I think it's an important book for our time, and has critical role to play in our current navigations of proper direction for the world.

An Absolute Delight

Quite the story. The character of the octopus is memorable, and while the human drama is a bit of a formulaic feel good romcom, the whole thing works together quite delightfully.

Boring and weird

Well this writer managed to capture the essence of her personality in this book. Boring and weird. I struggle valiantly through it for a couple of hours before giving up and not finishing it which is quite unusual for me with a book but this one defeated me. Good luck to all intrepid armchair explorers who decide to embark on this one.....

Lyrical and Powerful

This was an amazing story told by a master. It is also a difficult, heart-rending tale on so many levels. it was one of those books that causes a lot of internal shifting, since the truths, both on a personal and planetary level, are so consumately and deeply tragic. All this while bathing in language so lyrical that it creates its own teleportation. The perfect narrator. Don't miss it. Be prepared to weep.

A MUST READ FOR FREEDOM

This is an essential book for every human who believes in freedom and democracy. These principles of goodness have come under increasing threat, and the culminating nexus of industrialization and technology, combined with human greed and lust for power, are at this point threatening to wipe them off the face of the earth. We need to be informed what is REALLY happening behind the closed doors of evil power, and mobilize to fight these threats. This book is a great place to start. Read it. Buy extra copies and pass it out to everyone you know. Then, as Douglas Rushkoff says, Find The Others, and join Team Human.

Uniquely Instructional AND Inspirational

Really amazing book. It was such a total detailed walk through of how to TRULY change your mindset from fearful, negative and contracted to joyful, positive and expansive. I think it is because she is literally taking you step by step in her own detailed process. It's absolutely hands down the best how to I have seen. And I have read dozens and dozens of self help and spiritual books. Hers ranks first in my opinion.

Leave it to the absolute brilliance of Michael Crichton to convey his travels, both inner and outer, with such keen intelligence and unflinchingly honest self examination. What an amazing book. Read it. Witness the human experience as it was meant to be lived. Open, boundlessly curious, courageous and committed to self examination. Don't listen to the small minded dweebs who complain about his excursions into the many forms of consciousness. That is why the book is called Travels.....duh. He is not just talking about rivers and mountains. These folks need to update their size 5 head for their size 10 mind. It's suffocating......
