Historia
Clayton and Avril Shaw have lost their little boy and are still mourning when they move into Swallow’s Nest on the Yorkshire moors. In their new house Avril discovers a painting. When she learns that the boy in the painting was deaf, like her dead son, she starts to try to communicate with his ghost. Meanwhile, Clayton finds himself entangled in an equally undesirable friendship with a retired fire chief who knows more about the painting than he is prepared to let on. Is The Crying Boy painting cursed, and can numerous house fires be linked to it?

Do you feel like you need something, all the time? Does your brain run on stimulation, quick satisfaction, and immediate gratification? You’re most likely one of many experiencing an issue that has slowly wrapped its hands around the throat of modern society at large—and that is dopamine addiction. In a world where a laugh and a cry are both a click away at any given moment, we’ve grown accustomed to getting what we want, right when we want it.The effect that repeated instant gratification has on brain chemistry is significant, and harmful.

A practical guide that, instructs and encourages.
Revisado: 10-13-23
I like the fact that it is a short read, free of unnecessarily long anecdotes and unwelcome character involvements. I personally hate books hovering over the border of fantasy and self-help genre. So I am glad to announce that it is a purely self help book and it did help me. I did notice some repetitive content, but nevertheless I manged to gather some useful insights and fresher outlook on certain concepts. I found the 'action-steps' discussed in the book very practical, doable and most importantly, very helpful. Which made me more open to actually try and benefit from a digital detox. Since author said she reads the reviews, I would actually like say to her : thank you!!

Provides all the necessary information one could need to successfully start the meditation practice. Very compact, thanks to the absence of unnecessary ramblings and unrelated stories. Narration does justice to the content. Would definitely recommend.

Historia
Imagine if you made one little mistake when you were young and were punished for it for the rest of your life. Well, that’s what happened to Lydia (yes, that Lydia, the youngest Bennet sister from Pride and Prejudice), and she’s here to set the record straight. Hold on to your teacups and get ready for sophisticated (and a little bit naughty) hot takes and witty banter that’ll make you laugh—and think. We meet Lydia just as she is denounced by her family, exiled miles from home, and married to the rogue George Wickham, who seems to love all women...except his own wife.

Simply love it!!
Revisado: 09-08-22
I always thought Lydia to be more modernly feminist perhaps even to Lizzy and this novel does her justice.
This is the most satisfying conclusion to the most speculated afterstory. Performance and music choice simply marvelous.

It was good until it wasn't
Revisado: 06-17-22
I was very impressed, with the whole universe development and the story, until I reached the last 1-2 hours in the book. That's when I realized two main characters have started showing those "teen drama stupidity" traits. These traits are the ones that make you frequently facepalm at the stupidity. The traits that make any logical and marginally intelligent person pull out their hair with frustration at the spinelessness of the character. Maybe this makes it real special in the last book when they seemingly rise up to their full potential. But as I did not want to spend 20 or so more hours agonizing over the stupidity, i proceeded to return book 2.

Historia
It was four o'clock in the morning. A young woman pushed through the hospital doors. Staff would later say they thought the woman was a new mother, returning to her child - and in a way, she was. She walked into the nursery, where a baby girl lay sleeping. The infant didn't wake when the woman placed her gently in the shopping bag she had brought with her. There is CCTV footage of what happened next, and most Australians would have seen it, either on the internet or the news.

Ohh what a ride this has been!
Revisado: 06-11-22
As the book progressed, I came to feel more, more anger, frustration, happiness or sadness for the characters (not at the characters). There are only a few books, which I can say, invoked such pointed emotions as this one did. This one isn't forgettable like most books generally are, a few hours of enjoyment and then you are back in your life. 'I Came to Say Goodbye' left something with me, I definitely would think about this one for a while.

Creative plotline, but left me dissatisfied...
Revisado: 05-16-22
Well thought out plotline, even refreshingly original. To me though the execution felt rushed and had a lot of plot holes. It was a good background listen as I did the spring cleaning, but boy would I have been mad if I had taken 4 hours out of my life specifically to listen to this one. Though I would still love to see more (preferably detailed and with a well constructed plot) books from this author.

I hated the heroin....
Revisado: 09-12-21
I like the storyline, its different. I liked most of the characters. But I hated the heroin. Her random musings were ok at start, but became irritating too soon. Some frankly aren't even funny. I mean what a hot mess, and this was supposed to be 'smart' romance. I facepalmd multiple times, thinking how stupid is this girl. And that incessant need for approval!! I stopped the count of 'I can't date you' statements from her mouth, when clearly she wants the guy to oppose her and tell her otherwise. The hero should actually get an award for tolerating her. I was really hoping midway that the guy would say 'ok, let's not date then' and this idiocy would end. But well, you can't have it all in life😅. Needles to say I couldn't finish the book.

Racy content but no value for money
Revisado: 09-06-21
So recently discovered this series. I liked the book 1 so bought the second. However, the whole shifter loving curvy woman thing, got too old too quickly. I sincerely feel, multiple books could be combined and sold for the price of one. There really is no substance and satisfactory storyline. Maybe I am judging too soon considering there are many (more than 10?) books in series. I mean few minutes of racy descriptions (in avg 3-4 hour long books) do not really warrant 11€ per book. This price point feels exactly like all those warewolf eroticas cropping up in various fancy apps, where after spending a lot of money one realizes they just spent 10s of euros for mediocre word porn. The 'love' in these books feels as mature as my first relationship, Lol and storyline is not that great either.
