Every story I just listened to (except 1) is available on the MrBallen podcast and on YouTube for free.
I’m not going to name the exception because if you want to know then you need to buy the audio.
I’m still thinking about purchasing the book because of the graphics, and it would make a nice addition to my library because I still like books that can be held.
I have the entire Harry Potter book series along with every Stephen King novel.
But I also have the audio books and the movies.

Historia
Joe Gunther and his team - the Vermont Bureau of Investigation (VBI) - are usually called in on major cases by local Vermont enforcement whenever they need expertise and backup. But after the state is devastated by Hurricane Irene, the police from one end of the state are taxed to their limits, leaving Joe Gunther involved in an odd and seemingly unrelated series of cases. In the wake of the hurricane, a seventeen-year-old gravesite is exposed, revealing a coffin that had been filled with rocks instead of the expected remains.

Historia
A deputy sheriff was shot to death during a routine traffic stop on a dark country road. From what can been seen on the cruiser's video recorder of the killers, it is believed that they were a couple of Boston-based drug runners who had been on their way from Canada down to Boston. That's what brings Joe Gunther and his team to the investigation - an attempt to shut down the major drug running operation.

I don’t like this narrator at all and the story was just so cringe
Revisado: 04-25-24
The fact that they were looking around for the wrong person only to have Willie solve the case of who done it at the last possible second minutes before the end of the story, this actually made me just shake my head.
I don’t know if I should recommend this book but maybe someone else might enjoy it more than I did.

Historia
Joe Gunther and his team at the Vermont Bureau of Investigation are alerted to a string of unrelated burglaries across Vermont. Someone, in addition to flatscreens, computers, and stereos, has also been stealing antiques and jewelry. Meanwhile, in Boston, an elderly woman surprises some thieves in her Beacon Hill home and is viciously murdered. The Boston police find that not only is the loot similar to what's being stolen in Vermont, but it may have the same destination.

Nothing actually stood out about this story
Revisado: 04-22-24
The story was okay. The narrator did a reasonable job flowing from one character to the next.
Would I listen to the story again…..no not really.
My favorite narrator is Taylorson. I like how Joe Gunther sounds from his perspective.
It was an interesting story.

Historia
Lieutenant Joe Gunther is in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom investigating a minor embezzling case. It's a pleasant distraction and a chance to reconnect with old friends, but when a house fire reveals itself to be arson, compounded by murder, Gunther can't help but investigate. He quickly finds himself enmeshed in a web of animosity between put-upon townspeople, the state police, angry parents, and members of a reclusive sect.

Glad that I listened to this one a second time.
Revisado: 04-20-24
I was going through my Gunther stories collection and realized that I couldn’t recall this story at all.
I drive a lot due to my job so most of the stories are like background noise and this was one of those stories that I put on just for that purpose.
So I decided to listen to it again and I’m glad that I did.
I missed so much while listening the first time and I’m ticked off at myself because I really enjoyed this story a lot.
The twist and turns were great. It started slow but I actually like this because I can follow along like I’m right there watching the pieces fit together like a puzzle.
The story kept my attention this time. Especially with that twist at the end because I didn’t see that coming.

Historia
Suffer the Children presents a terrifying tale of apocalyptic fiction, as listeners are introduced to Herod's Syndrome, a devastating illness that suddenly and swiftly kills all young children across the globe. Soon, they return from the grave, and ask for blood. And with blood, they stop being dead. They continue to remain the children they once were, but only for a short time, as they need more blood to live. The average human body holds 10 pints of blood, so the inevitable question for parents everywhere becomes: How far would you go to bring your child back?

I love my kids but I won’t do that
Revisado: 12-03-23
I hadn’t planned to purchase this book but I figured why not?
I was looking for something different because I was getting bored with the apocalyptic stories of late due to their similarities.
This book finally broke the mold because it was totally different than anything I’ve ever read before.
I like it when a story contains questions and those questions are of the “what if” type.
I would do just about anything for my daughters and have done a ton of things for them but not this.
I would have put a bullet through their brains because what’s dead should stay dead.
I’m not going to let the world go to crap just because I love my kids.
I would do anything for love but I won’t do that.
I love this book and I would definitely recommend it to anyone I know who’s interested in apocalyptic horror stories.

I love short stories because it takes quite a bit more creativity to pack a lot into a small bit of storytelling.
This story is proof that it can be done and I definitely enjoyed the story.

Historia
With its brilliant and brutal portrayal of the Corleone family, The Godfather burned its way into our national consciousness. This unforgettable saga of crime and corruption, passion and loyalty continues to stand the test of time, as the definitive novel of the Mafia underworld. A #1 New York Times bestseller in 1969, Mario Puzo's epic was turned into the incomparable film of the same name, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. It is the original classic that has been often imitated, but never matched.

It was a cute story but
Revisado: 05-25-20
You basically knew the direction the story was going to take because of the boy with autism and the dog.
I wouldn't read/listen to the story again because in the end it bored me.
All the bad guys got what was coming to them which makes for a eye roll inducing story.

I enjoyed listening to the narrator
Revisado: 02-14-20
Because he's the reason why I decided to purchase this audible book.
There were plenty of twist, turns and misdirections, but not enough to not see where the story was heading.
I love that the story isn't full of useless picturesque descriptions that have absolutely nothing to do with the story.
This story held my attention until the end.
