Other than the fact that they kept pronouncing the FMC like catch-ya or ketchup, instead of Kah- Tee- uh like it’s supposed to be (which I’m hoping the author approved of the way they pronounced it through out the book) and made me want to scream. The story was funny and fun and dramatic. I have the physical copy of this book and the others in the series and I’m looking forward to hearing the rest.

The narration was amazing and the story was superb. Only downside is I felt like the story dragged with maybe a bit too much drawn out filler. I got bored at some points and actually found my self skimming a few chapters, not that what I was skipping was bad, my ADHD just needed me to actually get to the point. I love Natalie’s story and Ellie’s was great addition to the series and I loved how the author wrote them in a little bit, made me want to reread Natalie’s story. I did get a bit confused at some points because her friends nickname was Cole and one of her mates name is Cole and the narrator made the names sound almost the same so a few times I was confused before I actually hear the difference in her tone between the characters. (I may have misspelt some of the names, sorry). Overall the book was funny, smutty, and just the right amount of fluffy and dramatic.

The Story Overall was Sweet.

Spoilers. FMC was kidnapped from earth and rescued by the MMC. They hit a few bumps on the road of their relationship but at the end they get their HEA.

It lacked on the romance side as the FMC was mourning the loss of her husband and her life in earth plus the trauma she experienced at the hands of the aliens that’s kidnapped her.

The MMC was brutish at times but that was because he cared for her since the moment he heard her humming on the auction stage.

I didn’t not enjoy the southern twang of the female narrators accent, it made it hard for me to listen at first and if it wasn’t for my resolve to finally listen to this book that’s been in my TBR for a long time, I would have turned off and moved to the next book on my list.

I enjoyed the male narrators voice, it was deep and growly and represented the MMC very well and I look forward to listening to other books performed by him.

It’s really hard to find bear shifter romance books done well and when I first read this series months ago, I fell in love with all of the characters, the story, and Thorn is def one of my favorite “book boyfriends”.

The narration was done well, I’ve heard them narrate other books before and was please, so hearing them do Bears I’m Mind was a pleasant surprise.

Can’t wait for the next one!

The narration was good but lacked differentiation. The story was cute and easy to read.

I am a bit confused, this is an alpha omega book, so they are wolfs right? But there isn’t a single wolf in the book, no shifting, no fur fangs and claws. I would have liked to of had that included in the book, it would have made the story so much… more.

I could barely push through this, finding myself skipping through parts just to find something interesting. Idk what the hype is, I was so bored and found the characters unlikable. 90 percent of this book was filler just for the smut scenes, which seems to be the only reason why so many gave this book 4-5 stars. Wont be reading again and will return.

I’ve read and listened to every book but this… this audiobook had me feeling so many emotions. And forgot the last couple chapters, I was down right crying with Jesse at the very end (even though I know how it end with Ava’s books) Shane East was phenomenal, I could listen to him to him talk all day, he speaks so eloquently with so much emotion as if it’s actually happening to him. And Jesse will always be my favorite. I can’t wait for the next book to come out in October, Happy Halloween to me!!!

I have a few things to say, good and bad.

Narration for the Jag was good but when he changed his voice for the Carly, I couldn’t stand listening to the nasally whispery tone of it. Emma Wilder as usual was phenomenal.

This story… sadly didn’t even make my top 50 from Susan Stoker. I’ve read every single one of her books many times, her stories always offering me a form of escape and pulling me in until I can’t put the book down. However, it feels like the last two years her books have become so dull and boring and I’ve found she frequently used the same phrases in all her books. It’s hard for me to believe that every character from all of her books speak the same way…

So far in the Hawaii series, the only book that held my attention was Elodies, it was sooo good. There was action, suspense, and steamy scenes. It was emotional and I literally finished it in like four hours.

Throughout Carly & Jags story I was so bored, literally all of action in the entire book was at the very end, but why? And then Stoker doesn’t even give us details what happens afterwards! It took me five days to finish it because I could just not get into it.

(((SPOILER WARNING - at the end she has an underwhelming rescue and then goes home a few hours later. Then Carly & Jag just… chit chat like nothing happened. Only briefing over the fact that she was found on bird shit island! What happed to having an action packed rescue??? Jag and his team didn’t even find her… the coast guard did! What happened to the emotional rescue? the tear jerking reunion? I felt robbed!)))

I sat there and listened to over six hours of Carly talk about being scared to leave her house and glued to the hip with someone. Then, predictably, the moment she’s finally by herself… that’s when everything goes down.

Jag barely gets written into the story and for an MC… he felt more like a flat character. His only purpose was to move the story along and to provide growth for Carly’s character which to me, wasn’t note worthy. We get about half of a chapter that goes into his past after so long of being left to wonder and that was it. I feel like I barely even got to know him as a character. It was ALL about Carly.

Lexi, Kenna, and Now Carly’s story’s were all flops and it pains me to not want to read Ashlynn and Bakers stories. Fingers crossed they have more action in them, I miss the way Stoker used to write.

Overall, it was OK but I’ll never pick it back up to read. Give it a shot, you may love the book, everyone has their own opinions and preferences to what they like to see in books but for me, it was disappointing to read something so anticlimactic.

I was so bored listening to this book. It was 12 hours of boredom. The narrators voice was so monotonous and the changing between characters was so slight that I couldn’t differentiate at times who was speaking and if it was actual dialogue or not. I had a hard time sensing any kind of true emotion from the characters in the story. The story was so much longer then necessary and mostly filler. Get rid of the filler and you’ll have a 6 hour story. I had to stop myself from skipping over pages just to get to the point.

After all the hype on Tik Tok/ Book Tok I was severely let down. I’d rather read an unedited Wattpad book and that’s exactly what I’m off to do.

As someone with trauma, this book hit me right in the feels. I wish there were more places like The Refuge around. Alaskas story was different from other books in the Stoker world and I’m relieved that this one wasn’t a flop like a few of her recent releases. And OMG Savannah Peachwood is back!!! I was bummed when she stop narrating Stokers books and now here she is! I hope she continues with the series and this isn’t just a one off.
