This was such a great series! I love all the kings, Ace, Red, Lucky and King are more brothers than co-owners of a private security firm, and in this series we see them falling in love one by one with the perfect man!

Historia
When I’m running on fumes while driving on what feels like the loneliest stretch of road in California, I worry I’m in trouble. Luckily, I happen upon Aqua Vista, a sleepy coastal town with the only pump for miles, and the grumpy owner who is more gorgeous than he has any right to be. When I’m told I’ll need more than fuel to disable the check engine light on my dash, I figure there are worse places to be stuck while my car gets needed repairs.

One broken car can change two lives.
Revisado: 02-23-25
This was a very cute story about a chance encounter that changes two lives irrevocably.
When Aaron stops for gas at the only gas station for miles in Aqua Vista, and has to spend the night because his car needs maintenance, the last thing he expects is to meet and hook up with the gas station owner Jack. When Jack cannot stop thinking about his one-night-stand with city-boy Aaron, the last thing he expects is for the man to come back with a business proposition.
What both men did not expect, is to fall in love, and to find strength in each other to overcome the past and look into the future together.
A very-low-angst book, superbly narrated by Nick J Russo, perfect to spend a few hours dreaming of the sun and the beach.

Historia
Captain Iain Sinclair has looks, charm, military honours—even the favour of the king himself. He has everything—everything, that is, except the friendship of the one man whose good opinion he has ever cared for, scientist, James Hart. James has loved Iain all his life, but after the last disastrous encounter between them, he vowed to accept no more crumbs from Iain’s table. If Iain cannot be the lover James wants, then James will have no more to do with him.

Regency, m/m, second chances, friends-to-lovers .
Revisado: 12-06-24
I loved the alternation between past and present; it’s well done, always preceeded by the “then” and “now” and by the bate when a certain scene happens, so there’s no margin for confusion, and I loved that it doesn’t immediately introduce everything that’s happened between James and Iain before, but you learn it as you go on with the story.
I loved James, but I really wanted to throttle Iain, as it sometimes seemed he was stringing Jamie along, instead he was probably only oblivious.
The story is a really slow burn, the two MCs don’t get together until the very end, though the tension and pull between them is there from the beginning.
That being said, listening to this book made me want to go back and listen to the first three books in the series.

Historia
Being rejected by family hurt like hell, but I kept my head high, left my toxic relatives behind, and moved across the country to Gaynor Beach CA. Luckily, I have great furry company. My bulldog puppy, Widget, was dumped on me for not meeting my parents' ridiculously high standards either, so we're comforting each other. With a nice rental house, and a new job, Widget and I were ready for a fresh start, until I got a devastating diagnosis. I can't take care of Widget properly while trying to save my own life, and I expect a long hard road.

Cute puppies and so many feelings.
Revisado: 11-30-24
Gabbi Grey once again manages to deliver a very sweet and romantic story, while going heavy on the feelings with some heavy topics, like Colin’s fight to his disease his uncertainty about his mortality and his family’s rejection and abandonment.
Luckily for him he lands in Gaynor Beach, where he meets James, a wonderful, caring man with an abundance of family to spare, very willing to claim Colin as its own.
The book might be low angst, but it surely hits you in the feelings with everything going on!
Michael Ferraiuolo did a great job with the different voices and managed to portray emotions in a great way.

Lovely friends-to-lovers novella.
Revisado: 11-23-24
This was such a lovely story! Great setting (the Cotswold never disappoint!), wonderful characters, a whole village of busybodies and Lily Morton’s own brand of snark and banter. It was really a joy to listen to!
The story is told from Frankie’s POV, and though he struggles to come to terms with his feelings for Con, it’s quite clear to everyone but him that the man feels the same way, so it’s quite entertaining to see him fumble his way through!
Joel Leslie as usual adds his own kind of magic to Lily’s already wonderful books.

Outstanding.
Revisado: 11-21-24
This book was such a great read!
An insight into Ebenezer Scrooge’s life before he was visited by the ghosts. A surprising journey throughout Scrooge’s lifespan, from childhood to death, through loss of friends and family, adjusting to and finally embracing the fact of being a gay man in a time when this could cost him his life and every struggle he had to face.
The performance by Charles Robert Fox is superb and it definitely makes this great book into a work of art!

Historia
The moment I landed in that war zone, I knew I'd made a big mistake. I wasn't a soldier, and my good intentions almost got me killed. Being wounded and shipped back home to Canada was both a blessing and a curse. I’m safe now, but I can’t stop thinking of the men I left behind. My therapist claims Healing Horses Ranch will help heal my wounds—physical and mental—but I'm not sure how much tranquility and wholesome fresh air I can take. Until I meet a beautiful, shy man who makes moving forward seem almost possible. Can I let go of the past and reach for a future with Simeon?

Hurt/comfort and second chances.
Revisado: 11-05-24
This was a good hurt/comfort book. It was sweet and with no major drama, but I felt it was a bit dragged out at times. Simeon and Ryan are great characters, but to be honest, I did not feel the undeniable pull between them that I felt with some other of Gabbi’s characters. It was good, though, to meet again some known and well-loved faces. Also, I adored Simeon’s grandparents! Michael Dean did a great job narrating.

Age gap, dad's best friend.
Revisado: 10-22-24
I have sort of mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand I loved it, it kept me glued to my Kindle to see how things between Eddie and his lifelong crush, and his dad’s best friend, Lee, would develop. On the other hand, I wanted to scream in frustration at the unfairness of their situation, Lee’s hesitancy and outside world interference. I guess I am just the kind of girl that doesn’t think or consider any obstacles where love is concerned, so the (very reasonable) reasons that hindered or delayed their being together just made me want to scream and cry in frustration.
I loved Eddie, he is young but very mature for his age, having had to grow up way too soon, and he is the one keeping a level head while Lee, let’s face it, has more than one freakouts throughout the book. Honestly, though, trying to keep Eddie alive and safe while figuring out his feelings for him and questioning his loyalty to his best friends may not have been the easiest of things.

During my seven years as a social worker in Gaynor Beach, California, delivering orphaned twins to their unsuspecting father is the biggest challenge I’ve ever faced. These babies lost their mother and they need a loving parent, but is adorable Scott Wexler up to that challenge? Transferring custody is one thing—walking away is something entirely different, especially with the stress of Christmas bearing down on Scott too.

Why are men incapable of communicating?
Revisado: 10-07-24
I liked this story, the premise, the development and the sweetness of these two men coming together for the sake of the two precious twins, despite being completely unprepared and mostly overwhelmed! But man, do they need to learn to talk, it seems a constant struggle with these characters! I must admit after listening to Hugh it took me a while to warm up to Anthony, but in the end he redeemed himself almost entirely in my eyes.
Narrator Michael Ferraiuolo is always a big plus!

Historia
Having spent more than twenty years as an emergency medicine physician in war zones around the world, I barely have a home to speak of. A daughter I didn’t know about has died and left a child behind, so I must get to Gaynor Beach, California to claim my granddaughter. Her temporary guardian is the first man to spark my interest in a very long time, but it would be inappropriate for me to have a relationship with this much-younger man.

Slow, slow burn.
Revisado: 09-29-24
This book was very sweet. There’s an age-gap of 25 years between Oscar and High, thrust together by the death of High’s daughter who left her infant daughter in the custody of Oscar.
Though the attraction and pull towards each other is strong from their first meeting, nothing happens between the two men for most of the story, while they figure about how to co-parent a baby and re-figure their lives. In ding that they become closer and closer and their feelings for each other grow stronger. In the end, they’re already a family without even realizing it.
