Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

If you can’t get passed narration
Revisado: 03-26-22
Awesome series. I’ve completed the series, even though the narration is terrible. Watching the hbo series now and it doesn’t compare. Books are much better. If you can get over the annoying female voices and all the men sounding the same, it’s worth the looooong time to get through.

Narrator continues to be lousy
Revisado: 03-26-22
They must have had a contract for narration. Took and amazing story and made it difficult to listen to it. Character voices inconsistent from book to book in the series and all the women were as annoying as could be. If it wasn’t so hooked on the story, I would have not continued with the series.

Historia
The tide is turning against the colonists in the Revolutionary War, and 18-year-old Elizabeth Morris cannot sit by idly. Quietly disdainful of her Tory parents, who drag her along to society events and welcome a British soldier into their home during their occupation of New York City, Elizabeth decides to take matters into her own hands. She realizes that, as a young woman, no one around her believes that she can comprehend the profound implications of being a nation at war - she is, effectively, invisible. And she can use this invisibility to her advantage.

Drama isn’t usually my thing but I really did enjoy this book. Narrated well. The story twists were believable. Wish they included the musical piece created by the protagonist.

She couldn't have foreseen that even now, centuries later, he would be hunting her across time, determined to claim payment for saving her life.

It was a decent read/listen. It was recommended by an acquaintance. I like historical fiction and female protagonists are always enjoyable. I like Bess’s evolution and experiences through history. Antagonist was annoying and it wasn’t clear why she didn’t off him sooner.

Historia
In Amanda Skenandore's provocative and profoundly moving debut, set in the tragic intersection between white and Native American culture, a young girl learns about friendship, betrayal, and the sacrifices made in the name of belonging. Told in compelling narratives that alternate between Alma's childhood and her present life, Between Earth and Sky is a haunting and complex story of love and loss, as a quest for justice becomes a journey toward understanding and, ultimately, atonement.

LOVED it
Revisado: 03-26-22
I go through 2-3 audio books a week, so I often select a few of the free ones to offset cost. This book was one of the best listens in quite some time. The story was wonderful and interesting to experience largely from a child’s perspective. A little cliche at times but as to be expected. The narrator was awesome. The native languages are spoken so beautifully.

Historia
Michael Pollan, known for his best-selling nonfiction audio, including The Omnivores Dilemma and How to Change Your Mind, conceived and wrote Caffeine: How Caffeine Created the Modern World as an Audible Original. In this controversial and exciting listen, Pollan explores caffeine’s power as the most-used drug in the world - and the only one we give to children (in soda pop) as a treat.

Quick listen. Interesting and unbiased
Revisado: 03-26-22
Perfect listen for a flight or other monotonous activity that will last a few hours.
I like to break up my reading with some nonfiction every now and then. I found the information in this book quite interesting as someone who loves caffeine but is now on the road to quitting (which was the plan BEFORE reading the book.) The history and science both interesting. The author’s own caffeine habits were relatable. Good performance.

Not my usual genre but the story was decent even if mildly predictable. The narrator was good. I like the vulnerability of the male protagonist.
