Love Zoe!
Revisado: 02-03-23
I absolutely love that the main character is fierce, loyal, and creative! Not your run of the mill story line.

Historia
Comedian Sofie Hagen shares how she removed fatphobic influences from her daily life and found self-acceptance in a world where judgment and discrimination are rife. From shame and sex to airplane seats, love and getting stuck in public toilets, Sofie provides practical tips for listeners, drawing wisdom from other Fat Liberation champions along the way. Part memoir, part social commentary, Happy Fat is a funny, angry and impassioned look at how taking up space in a culture that is desperate to reduce you can be radical, emboldening and life-changing.

Finally, a book that actively accepts me.
Revisado: 11-05-20
For the first time , I feel welcomed and accepted for being me. Encouraged to be me while laughing. The author reads the book herself, at times she goes off script... but always for the benefit of the listener. It’s brutally honest, hugely loving (as long as you’re a fat person), and asks you to open your eyes and hearts to acknowledge the oppression fat people face.

Revisado: 10-07-20
The narrative is well done. Matches the story line with the twists and turns. A book that should be required reading for any one who #metoo. It’s not just a book about a fat chick waking up, it’s about a women coming into reality.

Explained so much, opened my eyes
Revisado: 06-12-20
This book was gifted to me from a true friend. The context of the person story delivered by Jackson MacKenzie is wonderful and relatable to anyone who has suffered at the mind of a sociopath. I was stunned into reality and could finally beginning the healing process after years of psychological abuse at the hands of my mother and someone I thought was a friend. It felt like I was punched in the chest when I realised a person I thought was a friend did exactly what Jackson described during his relationship. Thank you so much for this book.

Wonderfully descriptive, informative, refreshing
Revisado: 06-12-20
I can't say enough about this book. Author Amy Blackthorn shares her experience and expertise in Blackthorn's Botanical Magic. I loved that she not only talked about the magical but medicine qualities of the herbs AND potential interactions with some ailments. It's so comprehensive. The performance of the reader was spot on and engaging. Thank you to Amy Blackthorn for sharing her knowledge and Romy Nordlinger for delivering a caring performance.

When you take the time to put meals together from the fundamental ingredients, you have a mystical open door at hand. You can infuse every dish with intent and will. The food can quit being something you dump out of a can, and start being a ritual in and of itself. When you take the time to plan something with your own hands, it lands holiness to the dinner. It will make you want to spend time savoring it with your family as opposed to merely snarfing it down as you're out the door on your way to soccer practice.

Felt more researched and not first hand
Revisado: 06-12-20
While this did have the basic's of being a kitchen witch and was told from that standpoint. I would say this wasn't my cup of tea. The words and structure of the book felt like the information was more from someone who researched being a kitchen witch, apposed to a practicing kitchen witch. The performance of the reader was stiff and annunciation of some common words in the witch world were horribly mispronounced.
