A weak conclusion to the series
Revisado: 09-26-12
I was dissapointed by this last instalment. Lauren Kate didn't use all her threads to spin a satisfying end. The reader is left to wonder why Cam was so important in the instalments before? And the new twist that should explain the curse was not fully plausible to me.
The whole storey seems quickly patched together rather then a carefully woven ...
On top of that the voice of the narrator really annoyed me. She has this "suffering" tone, it put me off the storey so much that I thought about stopping to listen and buy the book!
As much as certain narrators add to a storey others can spoil it.

Historia
According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch - the world's only totally reliable guide to the future - the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just after tea...The armies of Good and Evil are amassing, the Four Bikers of the apocalypse are revving up, and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not particularly looking forward to the coming rapture.

A fantastic story! Imagine the end of the world in the hand of an 11 year old boy..
There are so many funny plots in here, it is a fast paced tale that keeps you smiling about the coming of the Doomsday, which is by the way Saturday. Next Saturday! All of the main characters are loveable and earnest. We have an not so angelic Archangel, an almost nice demon and the anti-christ called Adam, who loves his countryside hometown and life. Someone messed up the great master plan and misplaced the Anti-crist as a baby. The race is on the find him again. The horseman of the Apocalypse come on motorbikes (Hell's angels). It is a satire and parody and nothing escapes their wit. It shows that we humans do not need Heaven or Hell, we have it all inside us and make our lives miserable enough without any heavenly intervention. Lots of fun!!!

magic
Revisado: 03-12-12
I loved the the combination of old fairytales (Sleeping beauty) and modern setting. The hero is an ordenary guy, the magic is believable and the change between the worlds compelling. Original fantasy, an adenture with many twists and romance without being sappy.

Historia
The Thank You Economy is about something big, something greater than any single revolutionary platform. It isn't some abstract concept or wacky business strategy—it's real, and every one of us is doing business in it every day, whether we choose to recognize it or not. It's the way we communicate, the way we buy and sell, the way businesses and consumers interact online and offline.

You could shorten this book to half an hour...
Revisado: 10-24-11
Although Mr. Vaynerchuk was very enthusiastic about his topic he didn't really develop it. He kept repeating the same ideas over and over. Good start but not followed through...

Historia
English magicians were once the wonder of the known world, with fairy servants at their beck and call; they could command winds, mountains, and woods. But by the early 1800s they have long since lost the ability to perform magic. They can only write long, dull papers about it, while fairy servants are nothing but a fading memory.

Enjoyed it thoroughly
Revisado: 10-24-11
Would you listen to Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell again? Why?
YES, I would listen to it again! I loved the language, the accents. The whole story was told in such earnestly that I wondered if the Raven king, fairies and other events mentioned were facts rather than a brilliant imagination.
The story was continuously developing, taking new plots and characters on the way.
I liked the idea that events that were caused by magic might seem fun and enjoyable at first (like the ball or Mr. Black's riches) but being enchanted, or rather being forced to do things against your will would turn sour pretty fast.
Which scene was your favorite?
The idea of walking through the mirrors as a way of transportation is brilliant!

Loved it! Leaves me waiting for the last book...
Revisado: 10-24-11
Luce is visiting her past lives and finally gets to understand more about her relationship to Daniel. I liked the fact that this book makes you think about love, and how it is not always straight and easy. There is never just black and white to any of the caracters and love is not always the sweet and easy way. The introduction of Bill's caracter was a clever move. The end leaves makes us to wonder, can "the scale" be tipped? I am waiting for the showdown..
