Great book
Revisado: 01-29-24
Louise finds a dead man inside a house that some might believe is abandoned. Louise wants to find out who the murderer is; however, she fears it may be someone she views as a friend. Since her nieces are in town, Louise has to split her time between family and investigating.
As the series continues, the relationships and the chemistry between the main protagonist, Louise, and the secondary characters are getting stronger. I love the rescue cats living in the bookstore setting. The mystery kept me guessing who the murderer might have been. The storyline kept me entertained as I followed the clues to whodunit.
I listened to the audio version of this book. The narrator speaks clearly with wonderful accents and characteristics of the characters. This adds to the experience of reading the book.

Bookstore, Mystery, and Rescue Cats
Revisado: 01-29-24
If you like cozy mysteries in a bookstore and cats are part of the cast of characters, then you will love this book. In the bookstore, our protagonist, Louise, is fostering cats until she finds them their forever home. The characters are relatable and compelling. The mystery is well-written with plenty of twists and turns along the way to the big reveal. This is a great start to a series.
I listened to the audio version of this book. The narrator is wonderful at bringing the story to life. She's excellent at narration because she's great at voicing each character clearly, making the listening experience enjoyable.

Historia
Louisa Henry’s dream bookshop is up and running. On a trip to deliver a book to one of her customers, Lou stumbles upon the man’s dead body. The police are sure it’s a suicide, but Lou has questions. Clues at the scene and details about the man’s life just don’t seem to add up. The fact that the dead man was the town bully is only one of many things that gives Lou pause. Are the police jumping to the conclusion of suicide so they don’t have to arrest the person who did everyone a favor?

Keeps you guessing
Revisado: 01-29-24
When Louise finds a local who has been known as the town bully since his school years is found dead, but the police think it is a suicide, Louise believes the opposite. Louise is determined to find the killer before they get away with murder.
This is the second book in the series, and the characters' development has come a long way. Lousie and the other characters are realistic; they are not without their flaws. The mystery is well-plotted with well-placed red herrings to throw the reader off the trail.
I listened to the audio version of this book. The narrator did a great job bringing out the personalities of the characters. She has a pleasant voice to listen to.

Historia
During the pandemic, camping was supposed to be a fairly safe activity. That's only if you don't camp with Frannie Shoemaker. Frannie and her husband Larry commit in the fall of 2019 to take on a campground hosting job in the spring of 2020. In that time, the world turned upside down, and their job came with a whole new set of challenges. But of course, where Frannie's involved, other trouble can't be far behind.

Interesting cozy
Revisado: 01-09-23
I have to preface this to say this may not be a book for everyone right now.
Frannie and her husband are working has the hosts of a campground during the height of the pandemic. While dealing with the management and upkeep of a campground, they are having to keep their grandchildren because the daughter-in-law is in the hospital with the virus. In the middle of trying to homeschool and keep things positive for the kids they stumble over a dead body.
I was not that bothered by the fact the book takes place during the pandemic. I was still able to enjoy this mystery. I think things are far enough removed that you can relate to this affects the characters without being too raw and real, for me at least. It was interesting to see how campgrounds dealt with keeping people safe. The mystery aspect was well-written with plenty of twists and turns. I didn’t figure out who was behind the attack.
I listened to the audio version of the book. The narrator does a fabulous job bringing the characters to life. She is great at distinguishing each character’s voice and able to bring out the characters’ emotions.
All thoughts and opinions are my own, and I have not been by anyone.

Historia
Over 200 years ago, famed explorer Meriwether Lewis died on the Natchez Trace under mysterious circumstances. Historians still argue whether it was suicide or murder. That shouldn't affect a weekend campout in the present day for Frannie Shoemaker and her friends, but it does. They meet interesting characters at a mountain man rendezvous and get mixed up as usual with the strange goings-on. Because camping can be murder!

Revisado: 10-16-22
Frannie Shoemaker and her friends are visiting the campground in the area where Meriweather Lewis died over two hundred years before. Like many historians Frannie and her brother-in-law debate if Lewis was murdered or committed suicide. When history seems to be repeating itself Frannie can’t help but get involved to solve the suspicious death of one of the campers.
I love this series. This book is a great addition to the series. I always enjoy reading about the gang’s camping adventures and all the trouble Frannie seems to find herself in. The characters are relatable and interesting. The mystery is well-plotted and entertaining with plenty of suspects and red herrings,

Short but great mystery
Revisado: 05-25-22
Stacie and her friend are shopping at the mall when they hear shots fired. Stacie sees that Santa’s elf has been shot. She goes to help the girl until the first responders arrive. They notice a couple of suspicious men on scene. Stacie and her friends get involved in the investigation and it seems they now have a target on their backs too.
This is the fifth book in the series but my first. I had no problems with understanding the characters and their relationships. This was an interesting story and pulled me in from the beginning. It is a short story but does not lack any components of a good mystery. There were plenty of suspects and twists and turns to keep me guessing. I will definitely read more of this series in the future.
I listened to the audio version of the book. The narrator does a wonderful job with the characters and story telling. She has a pleasant voice that makes listening to the story enjoyable.

Revisado: 03-04-22
It’s Valentine’s Day, but the weather is horrible out. Mitzy was hoping to have a Valentine's date, but it seems someone else has something else in mind. Mitzy’s father is once again being framed for something he didn’t do, Mitzy has to help solve the murder before she loses her father again. Once again very entertaining story and great characters. Mitzy’s grandmother’s ghost is learning how she can help Mitzy in the human world so she is becoming a bigger presence in the plot-lines.

Case Near and Dear to Mitzy
Revisado: 02-26-22
My favorite in the series so far. Mitzy and Sheriff Harper are on a road trip back to Mitzy’s past. The two are headed back to Arizona to investigate the cold case of Mitzy’s mom. Although Mitzy is leaving her Ghost-ma and Pyewacket back in Pin Cherry Harbor, she finds a way to keep them involved in her investigation with video conference equipment.
Even though this is an emotional trip for Mitzy she still manages to keep her snarky personality that we all love. The mystery is well written and kept me guessing until the end. Mitzy and Sheriff Harper grow much closer through this shared journey and I think Mitzy is seeing she can let him know a little more of the real Mitzy.
I listened to the audio version of the book. The narrator is wonderful at bringing the story and the characters to life. She really captures each characters’ personality. She has a pleasant voice that allows you to lose yourself in the story.

Mitzy Moon is never one to celebrate death. But a compelling invitation to a 1920s-themed memorial service aboard a riverboat casino entices her to take a gamble. And the only thing hotter than the tables is the newly wealthy widower - until he disappears. Despite the extravagant decor, Mitzy smells a rat in designer clothing. And warnings from the sexy sheriff, her meddling Ghost-ma, and a spoiled feline all fall on deaf ears, as the list of greedy suspects grows with every spin of the wheel. She’ll have to play her cards just right, or end up on a fatal losing streak!
