Historia
Small-town gossip never much bothered Olivia Westerly. As a single career woman, she's weathered her share. It's easy to ignore the raised eyebrows over her late-in-life marriage to Charlie Doyle. But after he drops dead on their honeymoon, the whispers are salt on her raw grief. Especially when an orphaned, 11-year-old-boy shows up on her doorstep, looking for the grandfather he never met. Behind Ethan Allen Doyle's wary blue eyes lie heavily guarded emotions that unexpectedly tug on Olivia's heart, and she finds herself wanting to win his trust.

Rambling
Revisado: 12-07-24
The end was worth it after all but I was confused a few times trying to keep up with all of the characters and how they fit together. I’ll be thinking about this one for a while.

Historia
A bad best man’s speech can ruin a wedding. Why do we plan every detail of a perfect day and then give the groom’s idiot best friend five minutes of total power? Enter Nate (Glen Powell), a speechwriter-for-hire who helps people write incredible best man speeches. To keep the best man from embarrassing himself (and the newlyweds), Nate uses his list of don’ts: Don’t mention the exes, don’t be rated R, and don’t bum everyone out. Nate’s system never fails. That is, until he meets Dan (Nicholas Braun).

So stinking funny!
Revisado: 09-20-24
What I’d liked about this it was super funny. The language was a little much for me, but my children and nephews tell me that’s how people “really” talk. Oy. I liked it enough that I laughed all the way through regardless of the potty words😂

Biblical attention and incorporation but real world situations and significance.
Revisado: 02-19-24
The narrator’s perfect diction kind of threw me off but overall it was great. I’m glad I listened. I think it would be great as a self read book.

Historia
Emerson, Georgia, and Marley have been best friends ever since they met at a weight-loss camp as teens. When Emerson tragically passes away, she leaves one final wish for her best friends: to conquer the fears they still carry as adults. For Marley, it's coming to terms with the survivor's guilt she's carried around since her twin sister's death, which has left her blind to the real chance for romance in her life. For Georgia, it's learning to stop trying to live up to her mother's and brother's ridiculous standards and learning to accept love.

So many things to love
Revisado: 12-12-23
There were so many things to love in this book. The characters were well developed, and although I found some more annoying than others, they still seemed real. The topic is such an important one in this day and age, or maybe it always has been but we’re just now starting to talk about it. I loved the resolutions I just loved so many things about this book. I encourage you to read it, especially if you’ve ever felt judged are you’ve ever judged yourself too harshly

Beautiful story
Revisado: 06-02-22
I’m not usually a fan of history for some reason but this story was told in such a way that I find myself sad that it is finished and wish I could read more about Eliza, this brave pioneering woman as she continued to grow and make her world a better place. Bravo to the author!

These characters though
Revisado: 05-31-22
Whew, I had a hard time finishing this book but it redeemed itself in the end. The husband and mother in law and Roxy characters had me so angry!!! Kate seemed so wishy washy in the beginning too that I had to walk away but I came back and all in all it was a good story.

Historia
Two years ago, Olivia Martindale left behind her Montana hometown and her husband, Jace, certain it was the best decision for both of them. Back temporarily to protect her almost-adopted daughters from their biological mother, she discovers an old, handwritten cookbook in the attic. Its pages are stained and torn, their edges scorched by flame. Some have been smeared by water or tears. The recipes are written in different hands and in different languages.

This was the best book I’ve read in a long time
Revisado: 03-22-22
I am not normally a fan of the romance genre but this book seem to have a bit of intrigue in the beginning so I thought I would give it a try and I’m so glad I did. I laughed and I cried and I cheered the characters on, I felt invested in their outcomes they felt like family to me. I recommend this book highly to anyone who wants to listen to something heartwarming and funny and sad. Bravo To the author

Read/listen to this book!
Revisado: 10-05-21
This is a very worthy book. I only listened in order to procrastinate doing something that I hadn’t wanted to do and I found such value and such honesty and such vulnerability by the author both at her writing and then her narration that I was moved to tears and convicted of the ways that I had been sabotaging myself and living in an unworthiness spiral all my own. But perhaps you’re thinking that you don’t need this book, if so may I recommend that you read it because you will in this life encounter someone who does face this challenge and it would do you a great service to be able to understand them and have compassion for them and this book will help you do that. Great book.
