Historia
People starting out in business tend to seek step-by-step formulas or rules, but in reality there are no magic bullets. Rather, says veteran company-builder Norm Brodsky, there's a mentality that helps street- smart entrepreneurs solve problems and pursue opportunities as they arise. Brodsky shares his hard-earned wisdom every month in Inc. magazine, in the hugely popular "Street Smarts" column he cowrites with Bo Burlingham. Now they've adapted their best advice into a comprehensive guide for anyone running a small business.

Manipulated Reality
Revisado: 07-16-20
Facts speak for themselves when propaganda manipulates what we hear. When I told my friend I was listening ti a book about Castro, his immediate reaction was “Ah... the dictator?!” Although he knew nothing about Cuba or its people.
So many facts are distorted in our Meissen life to serve a purpose and the elite.

Historia
Science fiction allows us to go places we can only dream of seeing - other worlds, distant stars, entirely different galaxies. While not every story is concerned with the hard science behind space travel and other futuristic ventures, fiction can give us amazing insight into what we could be capable of and what we dream of doing. In these 10 lectures, Professor Erin Macdonald interweaves real science and the achievements of the imagination to reveal the truth that underlies our favorite stories and sheds light on what the future may hold.

5 Second Over & Over Again!
Revisado: 03-12-20
Yes; this books is highly repetitive about the 5 second rule which someone might say, we can appreciate the whole book in one sentence: Count from 5 to 1 then do... (whatever you want to do). But, its not that simple; the book and Mel's unique narration style makes it a must, especially with the examples she provide about success stories
The book's high rating doesn't come from the quantity of information but from Mel's speaking to our inner complacencies to do what we must do and that's why it is a life changer for many. I guess it has to do with certain creed of people that respond to this kind of motivation to act!

Coleman offers a system designed to dramatically increase customer retention and as a result, the bottom line. He identifies eight distinct emotional needs customers undergo during the 100 days following a purchase, whether it's as small as a new drink at Starbucks or as big as a house. If you can understand and anticipate these phases, you can use a myriad of techniques - in-person, email, mail, and video - to cement a long and valuable partnership.

Practical & Focused Messages On Customer Retention
Revisado: 03-12-20
This book is about retention versus customer acquisition and that makes it unique, at least for me, since I read many books and none had such focus.
As a business owner in the SME category, I would say most of us SMEers fall in that trap of not focusing on customer retention because we think that its tools are costly but this book proves otherwise. I like the fact that it gives ample examples for each of the focus issues in the book.
Highly recommended for business owners and middle managers alike.

Historia
A New York Times Top 10 Book of the Year and National Book Award finalist, Pachinko is an "extraordinary epic" of four generations of a poor Korean immigrant family as they fight to control their destiny in 20th-century Japan (San Francisco Chronicle). In the early 1900s, teenaged Sunja, the adored daughter of a crippled fisherman, falls for a wealthy stranger at the seashore near her home in Korea. He promises her the world, but when she discovers she is pregnant - and that her lover is married - she refuses to be bought.

Plays like a symphony
Revisado: 11-24-19
Story: This book certainly qualifies as a soap opera with its twists and turns but never in a drastic or vulgar manner, which really makes it a nice listen. Add to the cultural factor to learn about certain variables of the Far Eastern culture, especially the relation between Japan and its neighbors. I'm not sure the assumptions of the book about Japanese being racist against their neighbors stands correct, but it is surely a subject of investigation for me in the near future.
Narrator: I noticed many previous reviews critical of her, while I enjoyed her narration so much and found it soothing. Actually, I cannot think of any other style.
Verdict: I enjoyed this book so much and would recommend it highly for someone looking for a cultural, educating drama.
