Great story set in a very rich, detailed world.

The first thing I look for in a book is a good story. But I love a world with depth and breadth. To have an author offer such a detailed world is a treat. Never have I seen one offered just two books into a series; an absolute delight. Eagerly looking forward to the rest of the series.

What is the audio book version of a page turner?

I really enjoyed this book! I'm a Sci-fi guy from way back and rarely step over to the fantasy side of things. Tolkien and Lewis are about it. But VanGundy got me hooked on these characters from the very beginning. He's crafted a rich and vivid universe. Often an author has a good story to tell but needs several outings to fill out the world/universe his stories are set in. Here is a large, complex world I look forward to discovering as the series continues.

The narrator comes off as a little campy for my tastes. He does great voices for the various characters, but the narration of the action is a bit overwrought.

This book is written for adults or late teens and is not for the very young. As a paramedic I can see VanGundy's experience in emergency medicine in several scenes which accurately describe injuries and what they would like in the real world. For me, this adds to the richness of the narration, but I would not read this my kids as I would Lewis.

Bottom line: This is the audio book version of a page turner. Eager for rest of the series!

Great Material, Poor Production

A fascinating look at the Second World War. The narrator is very noisy (breathing and some mouth noises) which detracts significantly from the overall quality of the production.

Fascinating story. Very interesting insights into the leftist mindset.

The production needs to be reedited. There frequent long pauses in the narration which feel like a paragraph or even a chapter break but are actually between or in sentences.

Good material, poor production

Very good presentation of prophecy for those who, like me, want to know more but lack the background to grasp all the nuances.
Poor audio production, though. Frequent rustling of papers was distracting and sometimes uncomfortable on the ears.

Reason for a Low Rating

I downloaded the audible book. I didn't like that the author kept referring to his samples are available if we bought the hard copy book. Sadly, we are in 2019. Most people never buy a hard copy. We choose to listen to books. Offer a website to download each sample. Or provide your email so you can send all the samples you have of a business plan, job descriptions, etc.
The author also has a captive agent point of view and talks bad about independent Agents. The author talks about hiring 4 extra people when you first start your business. But doesn't talk about agents who cannot afford to hire anyone. He speaks from the Farmers Insurance playbook. Not from the reality of a small independent insurance agency.

Enlightening and Disturbing

Is it acceptable to lie to students to tell them the truth? Apparently, to a Darwinist, it is.

It is long past time to remove misrepresentations and lies out of our science classrooms. This book shows what they are.

Chapters Don't Line Up

The chapters of the audio book don't align with the chapters of the actual text. This strikes me as lazy post production work.
