Big fan
Revisado: 11-27-18
I've been waiting for the next Reacher book but was disappointed with this latest entry. The oddest thing about the book was that everyone seemed to think like Reacher. Everyone supposing or what if scenarios, which is what makes Jack so unique, everyone seems to be doing. The supporting characters didn't feel fleshed out like they usually are, with the exception of the tow truck driver, Caryl.
I'm sure I'll still get the next book but this one was a bit disappointing.

Love Longmire but...
Revisado: 09-18-18
I wasn't a fan of this book. The most interesting part of Walter Longmire is his interaction with the other characters like Henry and Vic. Without that the book felt flat, which pains me to say. Hopefully the next book will get him back to Wyoming where he belongs.

Good story however...
Revisado: 08-15-18
I was really hoping that Matthews was going to stop the recipe nonsense but no such luck. He doesn't need to have this bizarre choice to help him stand out. Hits writing and story are fine. And listening to this endless recipe drivel, especially while driving so I can't fast forward is very annoying. So, I'll still buy the final book in the trilogy as I do like the characters and his writing. I'll just listen to the recipes with gritted teeth. :)

Overall impressive first book
Revisado: 05-09-18
I enjoyed the story and characters, however there is one item that annoyed me to no end: Every chapter ended with a recipe. If I had read this I would have just skipped over. But with audio, I'm forced to endure each one as I'm usually driving while listening. I seriously hope the next two books in the trilogy that he drops the recipes. Initially I thought that it would have a creative end like, add three drops of hemlock before poisoning someone. But nope. No reason to have them.

Half and half
Revisado: 12-18-17
Some of the stories were very good and stayed true to the Joe Ledger mythos, but some felt like they were written without ever having read any of the books. The one that comes to mind is Joe's love of his life from dating for 3 years in high school. Hmm. Its this supposed to be after the attack and rape of his other love of his life in high school? It was just a misguided attempt to force a story with their own character. I will say there were a few stories that I have looked up the authors to give them a try.

Still good
Revisado: 11-28-17
It's amazing that Bosch is still going and didn't feel stale or forced (looking at you Jack Reacher). I love the crossover with Mickey Haller, as I enjoy both characters. Very good book with Harry handling multiple cases at once.

Reacher fan, disappointing book
Revisado: 11-20-17
I'm a big Reacher fan, and this is the first book that I have given low marks. I was looking forward to the release, but was disappointed overall. The story was very thin, and seemed very unrealistic. To me, it was like Reacher doesn't know what to dio with himself, so creates busy work to keep himself occupied.
However, the biggest change I noticed was that he seemed to be omnicient and just knows everything. Even more annoying was the countless amount of times other characters ask him, not for opinion, but for his fortune telling skills of the future. "What will happen now? ", "Where should I go?", you get the point. Reacher comes of as a pompous know it all, which unlike the other books where he works things out, sometimes wrong, usually right, in this he is always right. I'm only hoping that the next one is better, or I might be done with the series.

Historia
Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.
