One of the most annoying MCs ever

I found myself rooting for the MC to be murdered on several occasions. Not much of a lord, more like a moody teenage boy. Narration was mediocre. Some parts of dialogue were so bland it felt AI written. Maybe a book better as a read then a listen.

Getting a bit repetitive.

Overall enjoyable. However the MC being easily fooled at every turn is getting rather old. 4 books in and he seems as dumb as day 1.

I gave up after 4 hrs in

I knew I would never make it to the end after the first 15 mins, but I had to try. The narration is so frantic, even in spots that just seemed like a casual conversation. All the voices were the same, so it was hard to know who was talking. The space battles had fighter type craft killing battleships left and right. The end for me came in two parts to be honest. First the MC calls/radios Earth and gets an answer like he is calling in a take out order for food. Mind you this is first contact for the people of Earth and they are just answering and talking like it happens everyday. Second and final straw seems simple but it just drove me over the edge. The MC is adjusting his tactics and selects "gamble tactic 7", after that I called it quits.

The whole series has become bogged down.

The story has deviated so far from the earlier books it hardly seems like that same series. Years are passing by without much insight into the other characters. A sprinkle now and then of the other story lines just adds to the frustration. I enjoy character building, but this has gone way past that. Add to that another round of new characters and it becomes monotonous. It feels like these new characters are rehashed copies of older ones. For the first time in the series I found myself skipping ahead. I feel like it's the walking dead of litrpg, back in the exact same situation in a different location with a new villain.

Found myself laughing out loud in my car.

The harem story was mild and explained by the imbalance in genders. Sensual scenes in this story are tame compared to many other litrpg harem series. They don't drag on and even tend to have humor in some. Unless I'm mistaken the MC is 18 so why do people complain that the story viewpoint is that of a teenager at times. As for the OP MC I just don't see it. He does alot of running and near death outcomes while people around him die. The story is fun and easy to follow, and yes it does hit slow points as any 70 hr book will. The narration was amazing and brought the humor out perfectly.

Worst dialogue I've ever listened to.

It's very clear this author can't write dialogue between men and women. I have to agree with another review that the female narration sounds like Alexa did it. I couldn't tell the difference when the female character was either sad, angry, excited, scared or sultry. I did find it funny that many of the male narrations of side characters had them sounding like Sean Connery.

My favorite series now

I have read many different series, from many different authors, and they all have greatness in one way or another. This one has taken center stage for me. Just the right combinations of MC power use, adult theme, story, and variety. I'm almost sad finishing this installment knowing I have to wait for the story to continue.

I bought this book based mainly on the reviews. Generally I avoid much of the post apocalyptic fiction due to the preachy/Christian alt right views most of these stories take. Some stories are subtle enough to allow me to enjoy an interesting enough story. This book however clubs you over the head with it quickly by claiming a lack of religion has lead to ruin of the US, and takes it to another level by disparaging women who decide to have a career. I feel lucky I only wasted a couple hours listening to it while working.
