Historia
In an all-new novella in E.J. Copperman’s “funny, charming, and thoroughly enjoyable” ( Spinetingler Magazine) series, the storm of the century bears down on the haunted guesthouse, and stirs up a gale of memories for a troubled ghost. Haunted guesthouse owner Alison Kerby may have only recently discovered her ability to communicate with ghosts, but for her mother Loretta, it’s been a lifelong gift.

oddly emotional
Revisado: 03-18-24
I really enjoy this series. I usually listen as a means of relaxation and escape from the day for an hour or so at a time. I never expected to experience anything beyond a few laughs. This story was something else. I found it very emotional. Still not sure if I am happy about that! Well written and performed with grace.

Cheese puffs. Coffee. Sunscreen. Vapes. George Zaidan reveals what will kill you, what won’t, and why - explained with high-octane hilarity, hysterical hijinks, and other things that don’t begin with the letter H. Ingredients offers the perspective of a chemist on the stuff we eat, drink, inhale, and smear on ourselves. Apart from the burning question of whether you should eat that Cheeto, Zaidan explores a range of topics.

Wonderfully enlightening look at the impact of how and what we eat.

I typically don’t invest in listening to things that aren’t solely focused on entertaining me. This presentation and the book it was drawn from were not only entertaining but I learned a few things. The best piece of advice from the book, “Relax and don’t worry so much.” Really enjoyed the time I invested in this!

Historia
Narrated by Emmy Award–winning actor Martin Sheen, The Home Front: Life in America During World War II takes listeners into the lives of Americans at home—part of the Greatest Generation—who supported the war effort and sustained the country during wartime. The war brought immediate, life-changing shifts: the rationing of meat, dairy products, and sugar; an explosion of war-related jobs; and, despite mixed signals, a greater role for women working outside the home.

Excellent! But incessant breaks with credits along the way.

Fascinating look at WW2 from a different perspective.

Found this a good use of time. Learned quite a bit about the state of the US during this period and surprisingly, the things that scare the reddish areas of the US are much the same.

Disappointing
Revisado: 08-30-22
A disappointing story. Dove in without reading reviews. In this instance that was a mistake. There is no payoff for the time invested in listening (or reading really) this mess.

The “moon” series I have really enjoyed. I like the characters and the storyline is engaging. Looking forward to the next one in the series.
