Historia
We are often on a quest for more, giving in to pressure every day to work more, own more, and do more. For Courtney Carver, this constant striving had to come to a stop when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Stress was like gasoline on the fire of her symptoms, and it became clear that she needed to root out the physical and psychological clutter that were the source of her debt and discontent. In this book, Carver shows us how to pursue practical minimalism so we can create more with less - more space, more time, and even more love.

What stood out the most was the explanation of why we love or don’t love things and why we hold onto them.

I like how the author wove a story about how she was able to downsize and eliminate unnecessary things. It wasn’t just a list of how to declutter this or that, it was super thoughtful.

Historia
With the story of her conversion as a backdrop, Rosaria Butterfield invites us into her home to show us how God can use “radical, ordinary hospitality” to bring the Gospel to our lost friends and neighbors. Such hospitality sees our homes as not our own but as God’s tools for the furtherance of his kingdom as we welcome those who look, think, believe, and act differently from us into our everyday, sometimes messy lives - helping them see what true Christian faith really looks like.

Practical and sacrificial love
Revisado: 05-03-24
This book opened my eyes to many things I have not considered before, mainly how to reach those different than myself. I consider myself very hospitable, but this author challenged me to go further in my love and care for others. Thankful to expand my vision and way of serving Christ and others. Excellent read.

Wow great advice for any age. Wish I had read it when I was 20. Simple and beautiful wisdom written in humility and gratefulness. Wonderful personal stories and experiences anyone can relate to. Life is to short to be unfocused or bitter. Give this book a listen. Love it. Burns is a thoughtful and personable writer.

I am so thankful for what Dr. Nina shared. I have always been one to dismiss my feelings and emotions. I have never heard information like this and I do find it extremely insightful and helpful. I am grateful for the stories shared and the information I have gleaned. Now I hope to put it into practice so that I might stop the yo-yo dieting and the internal negative talk.

Your Journey too
Revisado: 08-11-22
I loved what I learned through reading this book. I believe most women could relate to the spiritual and emotional struggles we face as young women, older mothers, professionals, widows, or those who have been neglected or abused. We’ve all faced serious trials and I could relate to some of these characters as I’ve searched for a way out or a way to grow and face my issues. It was honestly a fascinating way to get good counseling and to consider how I could grow closer to God in the midst of facing my own sin and pain or heart ache. I highly recommend reading this book either individually or with a small group or book club. As you seek to answer the questions it asks, you may just find yourself a bit freer and lighter than you were before.
