A slightly different twist on time travel
Revisado: 07-10-24
I enjoyed the story. And the narration is great. You’ll definitely go up and down with rooting for or cringing at or shaking your head about the main character. He’s well written so you go where (and when) he goes. I’ll look for more by this author and this narrator. Well done.

This is the story of Michael Talbot, his family, and his friends: a band of ordinary people trying to get by in extraordinary times. When disaster strikes, Mike, a self-proclaimed survivalist, does his best to ensure the safety and security of those he cares for. Book One of the Zombie Fallout Trilogy follows our lead character at his self-deprecating, sarcastic best. When Terry asks Peter why he did it, the boy explains that he was trying to “shock myself awake”. City of Ember = Delightful!
Revisado: 11-01-07
City of Ember was a delightful tale "starring" two 12-year-olds, but not a kid's book, though I think they'd enjoy it, too. In the genre of "nuclear holocaust" aftermath, it wasn't a dark story (pun intended) and I really enjoyed it. I was left to ponder all the delights of our world. A few unanswered questions is the reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. I do see that a sequel and prequel are available and look forward to reading those next!
