Lorelei King does a fabulous job capturing Mercy's voice in the regular audiobook version. So that's a high bar. Here, I thought the Graphic Audio Dramatized Adaptation cast is uneven. In particular, Mercy's voice has very little emotional variance, less humor, and less passion than the book and than Lorelei's interpretation. And sometimes there is some odd pacing. I was a bit disappointed as I loved the Graphic Audio actress who does Kate Daniels in the Ilona Andrews series.

I was also surprised that Stefan and Wulfe had All-American accents but Marsilia had an Italian accent. And Wulfe is clearly voiced by a woman, which I felt was an awkward choice. I get that he's supposed to be a young man, but to cast a female voice just didn't work for me. And I had expected Stefan and Wulfe to also have Italian accents. Honey sounded more high school cheerleader/pep squad and Bran much older than he's described. I'm on the fence about Adam's voice—it's not what I imagined, but it's not bad. I thought Zee, Warren, Samuel, Charles, Kyle, Marsilia, Uncle Mike, Gabriel, and Jesse's casting were spot-on.

The story is still great and the dramatized version is a fun, new way to experience a favorite series.
