Honestly, the whole series is great

The narration is great. I'm able to stay engaged and when they instill emotion into their voice, I feel more of what the character is experiencing, which I love. Sometimes the "fade to black" moments during peak action moments are a little uncreative but I still really enjoyed the story.

Monotonous Narrator, Beautiful Setting/World View

I really loved the beginning of the book. It was more or less a walkthrough of how the cosmos seem to work based on the author's experience as a medium. That was fascinating to me. That being said, I had a really hard time actually finishing this book because of the narration. It wasn't dynamic enough and left me feeling bored. The story itself was interesting, I just couldn't get on board with the narrator.

Missing Chapter 72, Unoriginal Plotline

I was honestly disappointed when I realized that the story's "villain" followed a methodology for ensuing chaos in a way that nearly mirrored that of another one of Koontz's books. Had I not been aware of that other book, which was written much earlier in his career, it likely would've been a better listen. instead, it felt like a worn out trope. Additionally, I felt the exaggerated show of evil in the antagonist was sensationalist and unnecessary, in my opinion. I'm all for detail but that was a bit much.

Changing my life

Wow! She really helps put these concepts into phrases and words we can start using, guiding us to build healthier relationships based on fair communication practices. I tell everyone struggling with communication and boundary issues about this book because it has seriously empowered me in my relationships and I'm able to really start embodying my authentic self now. Getting comfortable with being uncomfortable haha Having been taught to be a people pleaser, this has given me skillful language to help me say no when something does not sound agreeable to me. So much gratitude for this resource.

It's been years and I still think of this book

I am in love with this story. The richness of a utopian society that works and is in right relationship with the earth with the contrast of a fearful and yet realistic vision of a dystopian world. An epic story. The characters are also full of depth and grow throughout the story. It's beautiful.
