Historia
Three scientists were sent to Virginia to investigate how a human settlement has managed to coexist with primals. Those three scientists have now gone missing. And apparently it’s Lee Harden’s job to find them, get them out, and–most importantly–retrieve their research. But if Lee has any hope of getting past the huge population of primals in the area, he’s going to have to enlist the help of someone he thought he’d seen the last of: a human-primal hybrid named Kat.

Not sure I understand the bad reviews.
Revisado: 12-26-22
I honestly can't remember the name of a dead bad guy from one or two books ago. Did the author forget? Maybe. If that's true, obviously it's not a hood thing. However, A. American is a great storyteller with his group of characters, and he never writes a bad story. I enjoyed this book as much as the others. It just ended too quickly for me.

Historia
The Mad Mick’s new employer, Walter Lightspeed, has promised great things for America. Lightspeed cleared the way for his rise to power by skimming the dead weight off government, assassinating a legion of career politicians, lobbyists, and agency heads. Now only one barrier remains between him and the presidency—wrangling the support of the military. If he lives that long. Conor and Ricardo have their concerns about Lightspeed, but that’s not enough to make them surrender their lucrative contract work with him.

Historia
Across America, citizens of this once proud nation sit in the dark, slowly starving to death. Most are dirty and sick. They've been abandoned by politicians and bureaucrats who continued to grow fatter and richer during the collapse. Foreign governments court the nation's leaders, putting them up on cruise ships and in foreign hotels, while the average American lives in squalor, ignored and abandoned. A reluctant savior rises from an unlikely direction. He doesn't need the politicians nor the American government. They represent everything he despises.

A review from someone that actually listened.
Revisado: 12-26-21
I saw so many reviews bashing the AI that only referenced 80s actions movies. or the "indestructible" character, and even one about the low tech weapons of a certain group from the book.
These "listeners" didn't LISTEN to the book. Every single dumb comment other reviewers have made are EXPLAINED if you listen.
Not a bad story, but it doesn't explain much about how things came to be, even at the end. Im hoping book 2 takes care of some of those details.

I did like the story, it kept me engaged. But as a reader of the Extinction Cycle series , i do think there are some continuity issues in this story. Fans will pick up on them.
That aside. This really was a well written n story. And who doesn't like a New Zealand accent for a narration?! Ill get the next book for sure.
