I had a hard time getting through this books. It was definitely full of a lot of mental health issues but the power of friendship, love and hope kept me going.
I feel for all vets and service people who give themselves

The storytelling was verbose

I didn’t enjoy the narrators as I normally do. I’m not sure why. Also, the copious amount of sex overshadowed the plot for me. I never quite understood Patrick’s insistent to be with Nicole because he didn’t love her and even like her. Patrick had more put downs than compliments to Nicole. Cameron was a character I liked and probably the more developed of the main characters

Good narration and good story

These are the mafia stories I enjoy. Just enough crime but not too gory, and a well developed relationship between the love interests.
Noemi was a smart girl and Connor was a delicious hero, faithful and strong. There wasn’t silly miscommunications and misdirections. Their journey to love was nicely paced. Irish and Italian and Albanians are interesting cross partners in the mafia world.

Slow and Steady Love with a side of family

This story was just a much of a slow burn as the other books by Mariana Zapata. But you know you will get genuine love that was planted as a seed and grew over time, rooted in friendship and consistency.
Rhodes and Aurora felt so authentic and real, unlike the smoke and mirrors with Kaden.
MVP award goes to Amos who needed a guitar and brought Aurora into their lives. Family and love are my favorite things in a romance book and this one featured an unexpected kind of family with Amos and Rhodes. Very sweet and well written book that gave Aurora a new beginning. I am curious if she will revisit Kaden in a new book.

3.5 star for an interesting premise

I enjoyed the world building. It’s unlike anything I’ve read. It was slow in developing though and I wanted more of a sustained connection between Echo and Adam. It’s there on his end but not enough clear communication to build the romance. I also couldn’t decide if the narrator was Scottish, Irish or Caribbean. I did like the narrators though. I look forward to book 2 because I think that’s when the chemistry will solidify.

Titanic retelling

This one was just a bit heavier than the prior two books so it lacked that sweetness in the beginning. It felt like the ocean scene in the titanic but the girl Rosie was the one in the water this time.
That’s what made this one more angsty and less fun

Short sweet and cute

Abby Jimenez will always give you a sweet and sad together.
Holly was built different because there is no way I could do her job. She did it with grace and empathy so I too my hat to her. John was such a sweet guy, I love how he tried to correct his mistake on the car.
Without giving away anything, my favorite things were
1) Grandma’s dying confession/wish. She’s literally the 3rd old lady whom I have heard wished this do-over in their life.
2) I learned 3 phrases that I say all the time but did t know this origin.
1) Hard as Hell/Hail
2) Break a leg
3) Pilot (a show’s first episode)
This book hit! I really enjoyed it. Great job Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber.

Light hearted romance

This is how you do a short story. The set up was just right, the pacing was perfect and the dialogue gave enough for us to grow with C and T over the years. Epistolary romances are
I can’t believe this was only 100 pages because it told a lot of story in this novella.
I loved both Characters, I loved the banter and I loved how the reveal happened. That was funny. If you like light hearted romances with growth, this one is for you!

Spoiler Free. Great narrators, go in blind

I’ve read enough of Aly Martinez books to know that a twist was coming. So this one, I saw early on. It’s still shocking and I want more information about the circumstances with Bowen and Remi. A lot more background about Remi is needed from Remi’s POV and I hope book 2 will provide that.

Aly Martinez always gives great heroes. Loveable and swoon worthy guys so it’s no surprise that Bowen stood out in this first book. It’s not necessary to read reviews on this book, just go in blind and buckle up.

An authentic friends to lovers story

I normally don’t enjoy this trope but the author nailed the progression from friends to lovers. It was a slow roast that culminated in a very satisfying love story. Harlow and Acyn’s friendship felt authentic and their journey to love was organic. This is my first book by A.E Valdez but I’m just getting started. The narration by iiKane and Winston James was icing on the cake. Their voices complimented each other while leaving me engrossed in the characters banter. What a way to start off my year.
