Historia
At the height of the Cold War, JFK risked committing the greatest crime in human history: starting a nuclear war. Horrified by the specter of nuclear annihilation, Kennedy gradually turned away from his long-held Cold Warrior beliefs and toward a policy of lasting peace. But to the military and intelligence agencies in the United States, who were committed to winning the Cold War at any cost, Kennedy's change of heart was a direct threat to their power and influence.

Wow

A little long and repetitive at times but super interesting. The author clearly has a bias towards who he believes killed JFK but still well documented and even scary.

Normally a Koontz fan but wth? Yes. I suffered thru the entire thing hoping it would make sense but it doesn't. The narration was okay. Story, not so much.

Horrible Waste of Time
Revisado: 02-03-23
Rambling and ridiculous. Does anyone know the point of this book? I stuck with it b/c it was based in Michigan's upper peninsula which I am fond of but what a huge waste of time. I'm embarrassed that I finished this audio book.

Historia
The world hates the Church that Jesus founded, just as He said it would (John 15:18). It reviles her doctrines, mocks her moral teachings and invents lies about her history. In every age, but especially in our modern day, historians and political powers have distorted the facts about her past (or just made up novel falsehoods from scratch) to make the Church, and the civilization it fostered, seem corrupt, backward, or simply evil.

It's about time someone stood up and said "wait, that's not true." Historical lies often become "true' because no one wants to take the time to debunk them.

Need volume control constantly
Revisado: 02-21-22
The story is nearly impossible to follow as half the voices are super quiet or whispering. I was constantly adjusting the volume to hear or having to go back and re-listen to what was said. I had to give up on what is probably a good story.

Amos Decker's life changed forever - twice. The first time was on the gridiron. A big, towering athlete, he was the only person from his hometown of Burlington ever to go pro. But his career ended before it had a chance to begin. On his very first play, a violent helmet-to-helmet collision knocked him off the field for good and left him with an improbable side effect - he can never forget anything.

Unexpected Favorite
Revisado: 10-19-15
Where does Secret of the Seventh Son rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
One of the best. Each separate story hooked me and had me excited to know how they connected.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I was totally invested in the characters right away and once I finished the book I had to read the book again to experience in a new way. It is a long book but I could not stop listening.
What does Mark Boyett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Mark Boyett was very good. I have other narrators that I like better but he was a great fit for this book.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When you connect the dots it makes you really think maybe that is the real secret. What if it is?
Any additional comments?
I have no idea how/why I picked this book originally but I know I will read it(listen) again.

Historia
Four United States presidents have been assassinated - in 1865, 1881, 1901, and 1963 - each murder seemingly unrelated and separated by time. But what if those presidents were all killed for the same reason: a clause in the United States Constitution - contained within Article 1, Section 8 - that would shock Americans? This question is what faces former Justice Department operative Cotton Malone in his latest adventure. When a bold assassination attempt is made against President Danny Daniels in the heart of Manhattan, Malone risks his life to foil the killing....

Overdone!
Revisado: 08-27-12
What disappointed you about The Jefferson Key?
The story was good but the situations and the thought process of the characters is way overdone. I did not realize I was listening to book 7 of a series until a few chapters in so the back stories were hard to follow. It also jumps from one character's perspective to anothers too often.
Has The Jefferson Key turned you off from other books in this genre?
No
Would you listen to another book narrated by Scott Brick?
Yes.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Some good references to real events in American history.

Historia
America is the land of the free, after all. Does it really matter whether our politicians bend the truth here and there? When the truth is traded for lies, our freedoms are diminished and don’t return. In Lies the Government Told You, Judge Andrew P. Napolitano reveals how America’s freedom, as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution, has been forfeited by a government more protective of its own power than its obligations to preserve our individual liberties.

Historia
Tremendous in scope, breathtaking in its suspense, Atlas Shrugged is Ayn Rand's magnum opus, which launched an ideology and a movement. With the publication of this work in 1957, Rand gained an instant following and became a phenomenon. Atlas Shrugged emerged as a premier moral apologia for capitalism, a defense that had an electrifying effect on millions of readers (and now listeners) who have never heard capitalism defended in other than technical terms.

Revisado: 05-21-04
This is the most influential book I have read or listened to. This is however, not just a story but a political/social commentary. You will be able to relate some of the characters to Politians past and present. A must read for all capitalist. I listen to it at least twice a year. The reader is excellent.
