The Stand’s weirder, less intresting cousin
Revisado: 11-18-24
While the characters were great, the ending was just to blah for me to give this listen 5/5. I did, however, enjoy the read. If you want to see a step up in writing/story, then the Stand is where you need to go next l. Happy listening, everyone.

Great Beginning…
Revisado: 10-26-24
Although the first 1/4 of this book was a bit on the boring side, I did quite enjoy the rest of the novel. Although I prefer the Dragonlance series over this at this point. Still would recommend for any fantasy enthusiast. Happy listening, everyone.

The inevitability…
Revisado: 10-03-24
The best part about this book, and most certainly the narration is the inevitability of doom…It is ever lingering just past the horizon, and we take that journey with characters of which we can relate to in one way or another. We hope they make it, and we see their perilous journey ebb and flow through this extremely suspenseful tale. Highly, highly recommend.

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

D&D Made Love with Ready Player One
Revisado: 09-23-24
As an avid gamer and D&D player, I found this book very entertaining. The characters were funny and relatable, and the stories pace was extremely bearable. The ending, of course was a cliffhanger, and I can’t wait to listen to the next one. Also, it goes without saying, but the narrator is extremely talented and I can’t wait to see what he does in the next book, highly recommend.

Story - 90% Narration - 100%
Revisado: 07-12-24
Although the narration is fantastic, the story does t quite make it all the way. Upon a reread in may pick up more clues as to why this book ends the way it does. There are spots in my memory of the story where those clues may reside which pushes me to give the book the benefit of the doubt. Quick read and great narration. I would recommend. Reese’s Story Continues…
Revisado: 06-29-24
I didn’t have as much fun with this book as I did with the first book, however, there were some stellar scenes, and the narration continues to be gripping and engaging. Some scenes including some of the sniper action scenes were pretty intense. I can definitely see any military enthusiast continuing to enjoy Mr. Carr’s James Reece novels. Happy listening, everyone.

Did Multiple Authors Write This?
Revisado: 05-27-24
The narration of this book was great…the first and second act were intriguing…the third act was almost as if another author stepped in without having read the rest of the book and wrote the most bonkers (the author even says the story is bonkers in the acknowledgement) ending. One twist is good enough Mr. Sager…we don’t need 3, thank you. Happier listening, everyone.

Weaving Similar Threads…
Revisado: 05-08-24
To start - congratulations Mr. Cahill and Mr. Perkins on both your writing and narration, for a self published book I consider this worthy of a place on my shelf! This first novel in The Bound and the Broken was a great book. The characters were compelling and the story held my attention save for a small part of the third act. I’ll address the Oliphaunt in the room. This book is similar to the likes of Eye of the World and has some passing similarities to A Game of Thrones and The Fellowship of the Ring… HOWEVER…Ryan Cahill brings us, in my opinion, a fresh story of fantasy, dragons and magic. Does it have elves? Yes, does it have dwarfs? Yes, does it even have a creepy monster called a Fade? YES! It’s Cahill’s writing and more specifically story telling that makes this novel one and of its own. I must say though if I heard “raided a curious brow” one more time, lol. I do recommend this for those who enjoy intriguing tales of fantasy who are looking for that Tolkien hole to fill in the reading hearts. Happy listening, everyone.
