Historia
The Revelation: A name given to an event that, five years ago, changed the world forever. In a single day, humanity discovered that not only were they not alone, but they were not exactly at the top of the food chain. Living in the shadows for millennia, supernaturals now had no choice but to finally come into the light. Because of the fury of a mad god, humans and supernaturals now had to learn to coexist side by side for the first time in living memory. With the revelation that magic was not only real but far more common than fairy tales led them to believe, a new society had to be born.

terrible audio quality for the male voice actor

I got an hour through before I couldn't deal any more. the premis isn't bad, but the execution is painful. I don't mind a harem fantasy but this is slapping you in the face in the first 15 mins and dropping into cleshays in the next 30.

Historia
Greg and Julian need to make a choice—die in the tornado that’s sucked them up in their van, or agree to hunt monsters in a world full of magic and levels and, oh yeah…monsters. The two frat bros may be master ghost hunters to their podcast listeners, but they never expected their antics to be taken seriously by a goddess in another dimension. And since when are ghosts the same as monsters? Awkward. But when the other option is certain death, it seems like it’s worth giving it the old college try.

Historia
He was a great warrior...who thought he was taking a nap. He was mostly dead. Anthony accidentally lived a heroic life. He was a kind, loyal, though somewhat quirky guy, who earned many of his nicknames through remarkable good luck in battle. He just wanted to know two things. Who woke him up from a perfectly good slumber...and why can’t he remember anything? As the daughter of the Dark Elf Queen, Aila had needed to prove herself at every step. When she woke up the Death Knight, he was a bit of a disappointment.

don't bother it's not good, like really not good, like absolutely terrible. The main character is absurdly overpowered, has near omniscient knowledge, defeats anything and everyone in seconds and never faces any actual challenge or struggle at any point within the book. for example with a single spell he suppresses an entire city and brings them to judgment where the city leadership is forced to confess its crimes and are assigned punishments.
the villains are one-dimensional and implausible, for example the Elven City Lord who obstruct and blocks them from speaking with the elders is named avarice oh, this one is also easily defeated with the flick of a finger. and to make things even worse the rules of the universe into warp around the main character, for example the Goblins are obsessed with explosives and express themselves artistically with explosions yet they have no idea what fireworks are until the main character of course explains it to them. combine that with near childlike morality plays in which obviously the villains are racists, because you know racists are bad and we should be diverse and inclusive and obviously we're better off being diverse and inclusive by the way did you know racism is bad? of course the merchants are greedy and absurdly stupid for example ordering their men to attack the guy who just single-handedly defeated the Beast that was threatening the entire Caravan because we can make money don't you know! by the way did you know greed is bad? Of course you did! the entire book reads like a Tumblr blog from a sjw writer who was rejected by Marvel. I had some hopes that this would be decent the premise had potential but dear God it was like fingernails on chalkboard.

mc is a marty stu
Revisado: 04-09-21
this book gets a two-star from me, the narrator is decent but the main character is a textbook example of a Marty Stu which takes what was a strong start and turns it into a bit of a slog as you watch the main character steam roll through every challenge and hand wave every problem. all of this and absolutely minimal character development, he's supposed to be a retired special ops Soldier but no actual effort is put into growing him as a person and a character other than increasing his power level.
what makes it even worse is the lack of thought put into the World building, for example its a medieval technology World however they don't know about crossbows? the nobility is made up of Mages yet nobody has actual defenses against Mages? the king of a kingdom which has threatened on all sides and is marrying his daughter off to strike a political Alliance doesn't have an intelligence service? , that same King travels with his Queen, and his crown princess into a potentially hostile foreign country with just 100 men acting as bodyguards? and the impression I get is these men aren't even Elite they're just regular soldiers drawn from the king's Army. these are just a few examples of the lazy world and character building.
overall it's not the worst book I've listened to on Audible , and I did manage to finish but I also regret spending the credit on this book. you might have a different experience however I cannot give this my actual recommendation. two stars due to a strong start which had a lot of potential but fell flat

fantastic game lit with well-written characters in a fairly unique setting.. the narrator also does a fantastic job and I am looking forward to the next book in the series. if you like litrpg and gamelit you won't be disappointed. Even if you're not a fan of those genres the story is good enough for you to ignore the game mechanics.

I seriously hope the author reads this
Revisado: 10-10-18
the book isn't bad, however there is one matter I wish to raise with the author I don't know if he's conscious of it or not. Please for the love of God stop using the phrase snapped his lips, this particular line pops up dozens of times throughout every chapter it seems in every single conversation the character has somebody ends up snapping their lips. learn a different remote for your writing sir.
