If you love Liane Moriarty's books you don't want to miss this one. It had everything I've come to expect. Sophie is one of my favourite characters in a long time. Well worth your credit.

What does Marcia Strassman and Kris Jenner (introduction) bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator sounds just like Kris.

Kris has amazing stories to share here. If you are a Kardashian fan you will not be disappointed!

Lovingly layered characters, geography and history

What made the experience of listening to The Lake House the most enjoyable?

I've heard this book described as "atmospheric," and it really is. You really feel like you're there, and the locations feel like additional characters in the story, like they live and breathe. You care about them and want to hear more.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters were layered and complex and believable.

What does Caroline Lee bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Caroline Lee is my favourite narrator. I loved her portrayal of the different characters. The rich history and description of the Lake House pulled me in immediately.

This was my first book of Kate Morton's, and I am definitely going to keep reading.

Unlike anything else I've ever read

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would, because I think this story will appeal to so many people. Of course it has the science fiction elements. The performance is pitch perfect. There is something for everyone with the humor, the suspense and the human elements. And of course there is an ingenious plot that keeps driving forward.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the detail and research that went into this. I am far from a mathematician or scientist but I could appreciate the work that went into this. The pace was excellent; I couldn't stop listening and the ending left me wanting more.

Which character – as performed by R. C. Bray – was your favorite?

What a great narrator! I loved how he captured Mark's humour, intelligence and grit. I also loved his portrayal of Annie. I would've loved more appearances by her character.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The letters and messages between the characters.

Any additional comments?

I couldn't wait to see the movie after reading this. Even if you have seen the movie, I would still recommend listening to this. There is so much more to the story.

Another gem by Liane Moriarty

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I find Liane Moriarty's work to be incredibly moving and authentic. I would recommend this along with the other two books I've read by Liane: Big Little Lies and The Husband's Secret. If you liked those books, I would say this is well worth the credit.

What does Caroline Lee bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She captures the human experience in a way that's very meaningful to me. The love, the anticipation, the vulnerability, the surprise.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Elizabeth's whole storyline moved me because I am infertile. The moment when Alice said, early on in the book, "She looked like she lost a battle she thought she'd win" really resonated with me. This book meant a lot to me!

What made the experience of listening to The Husband's Secret the most enjoyable?

Caroline Lee's narration was stellar, as always. She captures the comedy and the tragedy and always hits the right note. My very favourite part was the epilogue. I teared up on the subway.

What other book might you compare The Husband's Secret to and why?

Like many others, I read Big Little Lies first. The three-woman-main-characters and multiple perspective format is very similar. You get to know and love the characters and she reveals all the little secrets in such an artful way. While the beginning of this book wasn't quite as gripping as BLL, I found the emotional payoff to be even better.
