Historia
Three thousand years ago, humans were hunted by powerful races with wild magic until the treaty was formed. Now, for centuries, the elves have taken a young woman from Luella's village to be their Human Queen. To be chosen is seen as a mark of death by the townsfolk. A mark 19-year-old Luella is grateful to have escaped as a girl. Instead, she's dedicated her life to studying herbology and becoming the town's only healer. That is, until the Elf King unexpectedly arrives...for her.

Another Great Book Read By Elizabeth Evans
Revisado: 07-15-22
I had seen the Married to Magic series all over Bookstagram and Booktok but was still wary about reading it. I was searching Audible and saw that it was narrated by Elizabeth Evans and she's my favorite narrator ever, so I had to listen.
I was sad to learn that this series doesn't follow the same characters for each book. I feel as if Luella and Eldas have so much more to tell us.
The small town where Luella lives, Capton, is the where the Human Queen is chosen from. This story starts off with a Human Queen having not been found. The Elf King and his delegation arrive to search for her.
I knew that the MC would end up being the Human Queen even if there wasn't a small plot line with Luke concealing her magic.
Elise Kova does a beautiful job of painting the world of Midscape. There were parts where I actually felt I was there in the story.
Since this is a standalone, it does get wrapped up fairly quickly with a nice little bow.
I would have loved to see further interactions between Eldas and his Queen. I wanted to learn more about the past Human Queens and how Luella is different.
Eldas starts of the series being menacing and terrifying but that quickly changes. Honestly, I love morally grey characters and wished he would have stayed that way a little longer. Alas, you can't get everything you want in a standalone book.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, Midscape and especially Hook, Luella's wolf sidekick.

Historia
The magical tea has worn off. My eyes are wide open. And it’s with horror that I realize the fate of two realms rests on my shoulders, after my mother’s ultimate sacrifice. Rubezahl has returned far sooner than I thought possible. And not only that....He has something crucial, if we are to win. He’s taken something I cannot live without. There is no option but to race, and decipher the puzzle, to save the man I love, the friends more important to me than my own life, and humans and fae alike. Two realms. Only I can save them. We’re screwed.

A Crown Of Petals And Ice
The third book in the Honey and Ice Trilogy
Let me start by saying that EVERYTHING I learned in the first two books has changed! These twists and turns have been insane.
I had some theories; a few were right, and the rest were destroyed 😂
I definitely recommend this series. I can't say too much as I don't want to give anything away.
The main character faces many trials, but she always seems to come out on top. Her friends and companions are such well written characters and are amazing together and alone.

Fae, Giants and Kelpies.... Oh My
Revisado: 03-08-22
I started the second book of The Honey and Ice series yesterday and have just finished.
I'm absolutely addicted and I'm so sad that there is only one book left.
A Throne of Feathers and Bone threw so many curveballs and had many twists and turns. Yet, I couldn't stop reading. As I said yesterday, this story isn't like anything I have read before. Small parts of it are used across most fantasy stories based on Fae. These authors have brought a wonderful world to the pages.
If you enjoy a strong female heroine, a forbidden love, magic, fae, giants and more give this series a try.

What a Cliffhanger
Revisado: 02-28-22
I recently finished House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J Maas. It is the second installment in her Crescent City Series. Throne of Glass is my favorite series by SJM, but CC might surpass it, and we are only on book 2!
If you like action-packed fantasy with a sprinkling of smut, then this series is for you. It's her first full adult fantasy series. The first book is slow at the beginning because there is a lot of world building. Trust me, it's 100% needed because without it, I'd have absolutely no idea what was going on.
Her characters are beautifully written. Each having their own story but then also having a story together. Some of them will infuriate you one moment, and the next, you love them.
There are twists and turns around every corner.
I would recommend reading A Court of Thorns and Roses AND Throne of Glass before trying out this series, or else you are going to be very confused by the cliffhanger.
Elizabeth Evans is one of my absolute favorite narrators! Her performance is always spot on and brilliant. I just wish she had narrated A Court of Thorns and Roses. I dislike that narrator very much but wish I could listen to the series.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!
