Historia
Returning from her honeymoon with Colin Hargreaves and a near brush with death in Constantinople, Lady Emily convalesces at her mother-in-law's beautiful estate in Normandy. But the calm she so desperately seeks is shattered when, out riding a horse, she comes upon the body of a young woman who has been brutally murdered. The girl's wounds are identical to those inflicted on the victims of Jack the Ripper, who has wreaked havoc across the channel in London. Emily feels a connection to the young woman and is determined to bring the killer to justice.

Revisado: 07-23-23
The first and second in the series were great. The third in the series, I couldn’t make through to the 3rd chapter, the narrator was horrid. I am glad they have the same narrator back. Enjoyed this book so much.

Revisado: 07-17-23
I started this series because of Kate reading. Then in book 2 a different narrator. Then this one is absolutely awful! I could only get through chapter 2 and requested a refund.

Completely captivating
Revisado: 03-23-23
I read/listen to all 6 books of the Lady Sherlock series. I loved them. charlotte was my companion on my daily commute to work. I was sucked into the story and looked forward to reading more. Sherry Thomas created strong female leads that are witty, clever and self sufficient. Charlotte, Ms. Watson and olivia are not super sappy, but confident, secure and smart. The banter between charlotte and Lord Ingram is a wonderful addition. they work together so fluidly. When I finished book 6, I was disappointed that I had to wait until March to read the next in the series. On the day that the book was released on audible, I purchased it. The story was per usual well written, and left you guessing on who done it, right up until the end. I look forward to book 8...

Xanthe has always had an affinity with some of the antiques she finds. When she touches them, she can sense something of the past they come from and the stories they hold. When she has an intense connection to a beautiful silver chatelaine, she has to know more. It is while she’s examining the chatelaine that she’s transported back to the 17th century, where it has its origins. She discovers there is an injustice in its history. I love Paula Brackston Gretal series, that is why I purchased this book. It was a slow start for me. I slowly started to warm up to the characters and by the end was hooked. I couldn’t wait to find out what happened. I read previous reviews, I thought this would end badly… it did not. It ended for a new beginning elsewhere. Looking forward to read all in the series.

Historia
Gretel has never had any time for sorcerers, considering them nothing more than show-offs with questionable fashion sense. It is with some reluctance and a deal of grumpiness, then, that she agrees to look into the matter of a murdered magician. All that is left of him is a grisly remnant, which the police quack confirms is the murdered man’s appendix. What has become of the rest of him is baffling the local constabulary, the Sorcerers’ Society, and, not least, the hapless trickster’s widow.

Historia
Gretel - yes, that Gretel - is now 35, very large, still living with her brother, Hans, and working as a private investigator. The small, sleepy town of Gesternstadt is shaken to its pretty foundations when the workshop of the local cart maker is burned to the ground, and a body is discovered in the ashes. It is Gretel who notices that the cadaver is missing a finger. At first she does not see this as significant, as her mind is fully focused on a new case.

Gretel - yes, that Gretel - is now all grown up and working as a private investigator in 18th-century Bavaria. Her professional interest is piqued when she begins to hear whispers of of mysterious goings-on off the coast of Schleswig-Holstein: sailors are disappearing, and there are rumors of mermaids and sea creatures and all manner of slippery, sea-based happenings. Ordinarily, Gretel's interest in sea life does not extend beyond that which is edible and already on the plate before her. However, funds are low....
