What a great concept for a series of stores!
The first and third felt like great hope for a good end, the first was a little hard to consider liking Michael Hollister, but one can’t help but cheer him on.
I could listen to a town-full of these stores!

I really did not like the way this story was written. The story itself could be good, as it’s gripping and full of puzzling aspects to follow…but it took a looong time to get to the point. The before and after dance was a little confusing at first , but ok, got into the rhythm, but then it just dragged on! And the actual culprit is one you’d never guess.
And as for the ending….what is that?????????
Save your time, and listen to something else.

This book is worth every minute of your listening, not only about the interesting case in question and the maddening and complex Manako Kaji, but I love the self revelation that Rika explores, and how she becomes a strong and confident woman. Her relationships change and develop deeper meaning for both her and her circle of friends.
The toast she makes at the turkey dinner could have been summed up with “Thsnks to Manako Kaji opening a curiosity in me about food, it has also helped me find all of you!”.

The story is absorbing and intriguing, tho at times I was a little confused….the last 20 minutes in particular! So as not to give the story away , I won’t mention what details have left me puzzled. It’s a great story, tho! The voices are great for the characters, too.

I really like time travel books that feel familiar, and this felt so familiar, strangely.
I appreciate the memory continuation, as it brought a depth to the story that is missed in other tales of reincarnation.
The author has totally captivated my imagination and this won’t be the last that I listen to. I loved it!

When you have a story with layers of characters and their personalities, when it would seem to be a complex story to unravel and dissect the story repeatedly, you need a Tom Hanks. The story is really good, but with that voice and the face we know so well, it brings the story alive in so many ways.
There couldn’t be a better narrator for this story.

It’s worth the wait!
I enjoyed the development of the characters that we got to know over the two previous books.
It’s hard to say much without giving away the story, but the despatched grandparents and Colin are great additions to the story.
There really should be another book…..

The intrigue starts from the get-go in this story. The fleshing out of the attack happens gradually, holding the listener in suspense.
To say any more is to give the plot away, so I’ll stop with a bit of advice. Increase the speed to 1.2, it holds the tension better.

I enjoyed this story, tho narration still grates. Pronunciation is still not researched! Kenya is not pronounced with a short ‘e’, but rather a long ‘ee’, by the old colonials. Many of them still say it that way!
As for the shenanigans - watch White Mischief, that’ll tell you something of their lives. Charles Dance has never seemed the same to me!
The excesses didn’t stop much into our time. A friend went to the coast as guest of Lady Diana Broughton’s daughter, and his description of dinner his first night there is deliciously delightful- a long table filled with candles and flowers, and the hostess presided over it all with all her mother’s decadent jewels and wore only a kanga and bare feet…!

I liked the story well enough, tho some parts are predictable, which is easily forgiven. This series moves the characters and their stories along in each book, making them a satisfying listen.
Katherine Kellgren really brought the characters to life in a believable manner, creating individuals who belonged to the stories. Her sad demise leave a gaping hole that’s hard to fill.
Georggie’s family take central roles in this one, tho the new reader doesn’t quite capture the essence of each of the characters thru their voices. In addition, I found it very distracting when various words or names are so glaringly mispronounced. English aristocracy uses specific pronunciation which should be researched when narrating as one. To say Ascot as if the second vowel is revealed denotes the lack of preparation for this book. It is both distracting and frustrating, and one can only hope this will get better in subsequent books.
