enjoyed much the nostalgia of the timeline, the era was most of my adult life. wasn't crazy about the reader. he is good with different voices for sure, but doesn't "act" enough emotion for highly dynamic scenes like very good or bad news, rare sexual scenes, birth, death, he just continues on rather same, flst, unexciting fashion.

Too long, barely finished

Loved the premise of the plot, that's why I bought the title. And it did start out with a bang me thinking oh boy this is going to be good! But after many hours of she said and he said, jumped to the ending. The first half of the story is fairly strong and held my interest but the latter half just became redundant and lots of my thoughts of " oh come on You've got to be kidding me! " The narrator is fairly good but she talks a little slow You might want to speed her up. Also,she doesn't distinguish between women very well either. You have to listen to interminable minutes of the protagonist thought process, I guess because the author feels he needs to get what you're thinking, questioninh? Anyway it became boring and I just skimmed back from the last chapter to find the climactic points of things I discovered at the end and was sorry I had to do that. Author dropped the ball on the story.

Struggled to finish. Narrator was just adequate. Difficult to distinguish characters. Story was somewhat interesting because of 'Ritas' special gift
Don't recommend unless you're really hungry for a rather grim, police procedural ghost story

I enjoyed the actors, although all would have been more clear if I made a list of who's who at the beginning. That's probably just product of my old brain!

exciting! couldn't stop until finished!

The storyline moved slowly at times, but so many twists and turns kept me captive. The narrator was fine, although several times I wasn't sure of the person speaking until there was context. The terrors and wrenching grief of the protagonist was truly felt. Interesting information about sleep walking. The ending was satisfying and mostly realistic.

Brilliant prose

I read this in my first year of college, and remember being moved by it but not as much as this reading or listening provided. Chopin wrote such a lyrical, relatable character and her story, that most modern readers will identify with her self discovery and emotion. Although the time and location settings may be that of readers grandparents, or even great grandparents, a wonderful examination of the e reader's interior is undoubtedly brought forth. A true classic!

Gory to the max

The reader is one of my favorites. That's how I found the title. The story was beyond my horror and gore maximum. I think it's the most terrifying I've ever read! The author did a good job of keeping me guessing and giving shivers with the actions of the creepy monster characters, but despite some bad dreams after listening, I must look for a sequel.
