Historia
Jeffries spares no one and nothing in this explosive new book. The atrocities of Union troops during the Civil War, and Allied troops during World War II, are documented in great detail. The Nuremberg Trials are presented as the antithesis of justice. In the follow-up to his previous, bestselling book Hidden History: An Exposé of Modern Crimes, Conspiracies, and Cover-Ups in American Politics, Jeffries demonstrates that crimes, corruption, and conspiracies didn't start with the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

This is outstanding
Revisado: 01-19-23
I'm halfway through but bought this because I had his book Hidden History. Unless there is a sudden downturn in quality, I'm going to have to ask people to shake off the negative reviews and accept that this is a necessary read, as long as one can accept that nothing is in black and white, and that history is written by the victors. For those in the know already, it comes as no shock to learn that Lincoln was a tyrant and one of our first presidents to remove the Constitution from its moorings. How he may have been the first to be killed by the Deep State, however - well, that's a new one on me. That John Wilkes Booth is not buried in that grave, that they won't allow an exhumation to confirm it, that there may have been a 100 people involved including the VP - well, no wonder we're having such a hard time getting to the truth about JFK when they won't even let us learn the truth about an ancient figure from 500 billion years ago.

This election cycle was so absurd that celebrated political satirist, journalist, and die-hard Republican P. J. O'Rourke endorsed Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. As P.J. put it, "America is experiencing the most severe outbreak of mass psychosis since the Salem witch trials of 1692. So why not put Hillary on the dunking stool?"

Well, That Didn't Age Well
Revisado: 07-25-22
O'Rourke is credited with giving me insight to politics beyond the Democratic platform via Parliament of Whores, yet this book makes me question how sophisticated his thinking is. Yes, it spews Never Trumpism, but, worse, it recites tropisms culled from red-meat, click-bait headlines. He has a couple of paragraphs that Trump found good people "on both sides," the odious claim that he praised white supremacists when he actually condemned them. Heck, even Tim Pool reads further into the news clips. It's just not a good look; it's not a great closure to his work.

Historia
Best-selling author and legendary conspiracy researcher Jim Marrs, who has investigated the recent financial crisis, the JFK assassination, and the national socialist takeover of America, now takes on his biggest subject: the history of mankind. Offering mind-blowing information that will radically alter the way we think about the world and our place in it, Marrs goes beyond the revelations of his classic Alien Agenda, interweaving science and authentic archaeological finds with provocative speculation to show how human civilization may have originated with nonhumans who visited earth eons ago.

A fun, entertaining book that trails off
Revisado: 01-03-15
What did you love best about Our Occulted History?
Jim Marrs' book is almost delightful in its investigation of so-called suppressed science and alternate views of human history. Although I found some questionable references / sources, the book overall raises some intriguing questions about the age of humans and, at least, the timeline of civilization. it also delves into a rather fanciful but amazing theory of Macedonian culture. That all being said, the last third of the book - a regurgitation of "The Money Masters," federal reserve, the powerful elite, fluoridation, etc. - was so unnecessary that it felt like filler. More so, at the pace of an audio book, it gives the reader the impression that there are hours of life that could have been better spent.
What about Dave Courvoisier’s performance did you like?
The narrator delivers the text in a perfect tone. Some reviewers have complained about his imitations of dialect. I found it a benefit - it discerned Marrs' prose from quotes. It was an easy way to realize when a new voice was being introduced without having the narrator say, "here comes a quotation." Yes, Mr. Courvosier does make some curious mispronunciations - "Karlton Heston" - but, hey, at the same time he had a lot to read out loud!

There's the Freedom of Information Act, and then there's Ventura's way. The official spin on numerous government programs is flat-out bull, according to Jesse Ventura. In this incredible collection of actual government documents, Ventura, the ultimate nonpartisan truth-seeker, proves it beyond any doubt. He and Dick Russell walk listeners through 63 of the most incriminating programs to reveal what really happens behind the closed doors.

It's good, as long as you don't listen to it.
Revisado: 06-16-11
I agree with the low-level ratings here. It's not that the book is bad - it's just bad in audio form. The narrator is great, but how much can you do with, "Government document three seven five Dee Zee Ell, dated January 25 two thousand and sixty five. From Admiral Cosegrove to the chiefs of staff ..." A more traditional book, your eyes just go right past all that. But I can't slight Jesse. Love the guy. Just find a book to flip through (PS - I love you, Audible)

Historia
Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson ( Pulp Fiction) rocks this mock bedtime story, capturing a hilarious range of emotions as the voice of a father struggling to get his child to sleep. Go the F**k to Sleep is a bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don’t always send a toddler sailing blissfully off to dreamland.

Historia
Our age is obsessed by the idea of conspiracy. We see it everywhere - from Pearl Harbor to 9/11, from the assassination of Kennedy to the death of Diana. In this age of terrorism we live in, the role of conspiracy is a serious one - one that can fuel radical or fringe elements to violence. For award-winning journalist David Aaronovitch, there came a time when he started to see a pattern among these inflammatory theories.

Life Is Easy For A Skeptic
Revisado: 03-21-11
Want to be an official skeptic? Say "Occam's Razor" and cite the most ridiculous parts of the most ridiculous "conspiracy theory" - the Protocols of Zion - and you can dismiss more credible theories because that one is so justifiably stupid. And remember: you're the intellectual. Full disclosure - I'm only a half-hour in, but so far this is Bill Nye by-the-numbers skepticism. To dismiss Dr. David Griffin's work because he overstated his credentials somewhere, or to say there is no credible reason to question the murder of MLK despite what Dr. William Pepper might say is par for the course. Maybe it will get better.
