This was a hard listen. The narrator was fantastic, and the plot was interesting, but there were so many errors and little niggles with this book that it was really hard to stay immersed. Honestly, this book really reads like it needed another few proof and beta readers.

Historia
Walt is surprised to learn that his old partner, Ox, has a brother. Ox had never mentioned Lenny who was serving time in prison. Ox was just as surprised when Lenny showed up at his door claiming he had found religion and turned his life around. He was even more surprised to learn that his brother, the bad seed of the family, was now an ordained minister. As Lenny’s ministry grows by leaps and bounds, Walt and his friends are skeptical. Was Lenny’s conversion real or is it an elaborate con? Walt is faced with the age-old question - can people really change? What do you think?

I quite enjoyed this book. It was nice to see another size to Ox with the involvement of his brother, and how they came to a decision over whether people were capable of changing.

In examining one of the defining events of the twentieth century, Doris L. Bergen situates the Holocaust in its historical, political, social, cultural, and military contexts. Unlike many other treatments of the Holocaust, this revised, third edition discusses not only the persecution of the Jews, but also other segments of society victimized by the Nazis: Roma, homosexuals, Poles, Soviet POWs, the disabled, and other groups deemed undesirable.

2020 52 Book Challenge - 1) A Book With The Letter ‘W’ In The Title
I thought this book was very interesting, and I especially found the parts that covered the Roma people and disabled people interesting.
I also found it to be quite an easy read, not the subject matter but how the book was structured, as it was broken up into small sections that were easy to pause between daily life.

Historia
Generations have been told that Aaron Burr was a betrayer: of Alexander Hamilton, of his country, of those who had nobler ideas. But that version has been shaped by historians and writers from the 18th century on who were blinded by tabloid reports and propaganda created by Burr's political enemies during his lifetime. It is time to discover the real Aaron Burr.

2018 52 Book Challenge - 40) Political Book (Fiction or Non-Fiction)
This was such a hard book to slog through. The author constantly tried to absolve Burr of any misdoing in his life, constantly blaming others and then being incredibly hypocritical when Burr did the exact same thing that she'd just spent ten minutes ranting about somebody else doing. This book was not balanced in the slightest, and Burr is just portrayed as the perfect politician, the perfect man, and he could do no wrong.
Honestly, this book should have just been titled "How Much I Hate Alexander Hamilton" with the amount of time she dedicated to ranting about him.

Harry Potter: A History of Magic reveals some of the hidden stories behind real-world magic and explores some of J.K. Rowling's magical inventions alongside their folkloric, cultural and historical forebears.

2018 52 Book Challenge - 50) A Book With The Letter "Y" Somewhere In The Title
DNF at 25%.
Ughhhhh this book is so boring and dry. I really didn't like the mix of bits of Harry Potter and then bits of real magical history, I wish it had just stuck to one or the other because I found it very jarring.
Also, as it is a book of an exhibit, it would have been nice to have images of what they were talking about, because half of what I did listen to, I was hopelessly lost. It also jumped from topic to topic, making it quite difficult to follow.
There were frequent interviews throughout which made the volume fluctuate, so I was constantly changing the volume up and down, which was rather frustrating. I also wish that they had noted Stephen Fry as a narrator on this book as well, as he seemed to do just as much as Natalie Dormer, and then I would have known not to read it, considering that I really don't like Stephen Fry as a narrator.

This book starts out by talking about the musical Assassins by Stephen Sondheim, and considering how much I love that, the book pulled me right in. I appreciated how it looked at the assassinations a little differently, even if the majority of the book focused on Lincoln and Booth.
