Historia
As a doctor, I walk a dangerously delicate balance of being compassionate but not overly invested. The same is true in my personal life - love is a luxury I can’t afford. It isn’t until Dr. Westin Grant breaks down all my walls and offers me a future, I find myself wondering if I’m brave enough to risk my heart. When who I was and who I’ve tried to become collide during my clinical trial, the fate of one patient changes everything.

Exquisite story - a must listen to
Revisado: 09-12-21
Extremely well written and greatly interpreted, this book is about life in it’s amazing beauty and challenges, about love and loss, about hardship, and the courage to bounce back up when you hit rock bottom. The author is an extraordinary artist when it comes to to painting so many human emotions we can all relate to, and me in particular, being a doctor married to a doctor.
The little medical mistake , maybe intentional or maybe not, of using the defibrillator in a patient with asystole (flat line on the heart monitor), adds to the drama and depicts the feelings a doctor goes through when losing a patient, all the more relatable.
A wonderful story for everyone to read and learn from: I promise you will find at least one real-life situation you’ve been through yourself.
Enjoy!

Acclaimed author Peg Kehret has written the true story of the year when she was twelve and stricken with polio. A masterpiece!
Beautiful story taking you literally on a trip around Japan, sharing the beauty of the country, the culture, and the people. The central characters are a young man with genuine kindness and a beautiful heart, and his cat, who is the perfect mixture of devotion, independence, and wit.
If you are a cat lover, this story will make you laugh, cry, and relate to both feline and human emotions so brilliantly described, you won’t be able to turn it off until it’s over...

Historia
For more than 25 years, David Sedaris has been carving out a unique literary space, virtually creating his own genre. A Sedaris story may seem confessional, but is also highly attuned to the world outside. It opens our eyes to what is at absurd and moving about our daily existence. And it is almost impossible to listen without laughing.

I can never get enough of David
Revisado: 01-20-21
Relatable is putting it mildly. Yes, we can all relate to some or all of the “flaws” of his family members that make his stories so hilarious. But what keeps me wanting to listen to his work is his love for people. For it takes a brilliant writer to share so much of himself through the description of the people he loves. He loves them the way they are. A person dies twice: once, when they physically pass away, and then again when they stop being remembered. His family will NEVER die; not as long as people will continue to relate to his celebration of their uniqueness. Sharon “got them laughing”: he just masterfully put it into words...

Historia
Dismissed by a bored author at a book signing, a betrayed young man named David Sedaris made a vow. Someday, when it was his turn at the table, he’d connect with his readers. The experience has been even more revealing than he’d hoped. In this hilarious and perceptive essay, the celebrated humorist reflects on the unusual patterns of forced socialization between author and audience, and the obligations and sometimes surprising returns of not-so-chance encounters with strangers: jokes, secrets, insights, and even charity.

I simply cannot get enough of David!
He comes up with more and more to share, and he is as extraordinarily talented an actor as he is a writer. He deserves his audience waiting in long lines to get his attention. I am constantly searching for everything new he releases.
This piece is worth your time and money!
