Insightful and disturbing

All I can say is Harry and Meghan were right to leave this terribly dysfunctional and backstabbing family and the horrific British press who have no shame in tearing down a person or persons. The way they hunt humans for headlines. Poor Diana… still no rest for her boy. I have to admit I was not a huge Harry and Megan fan when I got this book but this is definitely open my eyes to see how much hate and disdain can a person take just for marrying in to the royal family? And how much intrusion and lies and story making can a young man take throughout his whole life and having to swallow it. Shame on Prince William for never supporting his brother! I don’t blame King Charles because truly, he knew no different, but Prince William had more time with Diana. He knew what she went through and when she died, he abandoned his brother. I don’t know how he sleeps at night.

Beautiful, honest and heartbreaking

Ridiculous

You can tell when an author is out of their normal zone of writing. This was as cheesy and as ridiculous and it’s juvenile as one of the worst Hallmark movies I’ve ever laid eyes on. Don’t waste your money I was hoping that this was going to be much better but I think I rolled my eyes so many times I saw the inside of my brain. If you like cheesy writing this is the ticket.

Nice story but narration needed help

This is a nice story of Jonathan’s life but it seemed very slow and light, bypassing the real grit of life. Also the major issue I had was that throughout the entire book you could hear him smacking his dry mouth, swallowing and it was so very annoying. Honestly I just wanted him to get a big glass of water and drink it - it sounded so horrible for the whole book.

What in the actual hell???

I cannot even believe the amount of glowing reviews for this book!!! It borders on the lines of mental and sexual abuse, marital rape, and a 27-year-old knocking up a 17-year-old girl!! WTH? Then you have to listen to the years of manipulation and cheating this man puts her through and she is a complete and utterly weak doormat with absolutely no backbone whatsoever. It was really rather disturbing. I don’t care what emotional roller coaster a book will try to take you on -it’s not worth listening to a character suffer under mental abuse and rampant codependency. This girl needed therapy asap! To allow herself to be treated like a dog and then go racing back to him just because he shows up and says he loves her is shameful. To top it off... I looked up information regarding the author, Gina Jones, and in her bio it says that her husband was not supportive of her writing career at first but then she was successful despite him and now he “allowed” her to quit her work in the medical field and continue her writing career. Romantic getaway

The story starts out strong and fun and delicious and I loved it .... THEN after the mid point, it starts down the slipper slope of the cursed "everything is perfect" syndrome. Why does an author have to ruin perfectly strong stories with unrealistic endings... Of course, we want the fantasy, but do not make it so over the top that it leaves you rolling your eyes. The characters do not have to be perfect, the hero does not need to a prince, etc... just so long as they are in love and making it work. Hate when endings are so absurb they play out like a cheesy lifetime movie.

I wanted to love this....

I wanted to love this and give it better reviews but Burt's voice was so soft and quiet it was hard to keep it at a consistent volume. I did not find any of the stories really compelling or very interesting. He seemed so angry and bitter that it was like accidentally overhearing someone tell a secret you wish you did not hear.
