Great stories narrated by a great actor
Revisado: 06-23-12
Not the standard autobiography, but a series of remembrances by a man who has been a very successful Broadway and movie actor. Beginning in the 1960's and continuing on he has chapters on individuals such as Anthony Perkins, Paul Newman, Elizabeth Taylor, Robert MItchem and on and on. They are funny, sad , touching, and always entertaining.

Historia
His first day on the job, Cork stumbles across a secret room with the remains of six murder victims inside. Five appear to be nearly half a century old - connected to what the media had dubbed “The Vanishings,” a series of unsolved disappearances in the summer of 1964, when Cork’s father was sheriff in Tamarack County. But the sixth has been dead less than a week. What’s worse, two of the bodies - including the most recent victim - were killed using Cork’s own gun, one handed down to him from his father.

William Kent Krueger never disappoints. I discovered the author with this book and have gone back and am listening to the Cork O'Connor books in order. I was not as fond of the narrator as David Chandler .

Not Saying Goodbye

Loving all of C.J. Box's series about Joe Pickett I did not know what to expect with this stand alone. Well, I loved it and could not stop listening to it. I have added John Bedford Lloyd to favorite narrrator status for myself.

Joining Seal Team Six
Revisado: 09-09-11
This story of how a man's very tough childhood leads to becoming a Seal and what happens to him in the Seals and afterward was both fascinating and unexpected in so many ways for me. It made me want to thank all the ones who served, past and present. The timing of the book was also so appropriate with the recent events. Simply put it is a great story.

Historia
Zach is 18. He is bright and articulate. He's also an alcoholic and in rehab instead of high school, but he doesn't remember how he got there. He's not sure he wants to remember. Something bad must have happened. Something really, really bad. Remembering sucks and being alive—well, what's up with that?

A wonderful young adult that is terrific for older readers also. It had me from the line where the main character says " I have sad written on my heart". It deals with tough issues in such a positive way.
