Historia
When COVID-19 sweeps through New York City, Jamie Gray is stuck as a dead-end driver for food-delivery apps. That is, until Jamie makes a delivery to an old acquaintance, Tom, who works at what he calls “an animal rights organization”. Tom’s team needs a last-minute grunt to handle things on their next field visit. Jamie, eager to do anything, immediately signs on. What Tom doesn't tell Jamie is that the animals his team cares for are not here on Earth. Not our Earth, at at least. In an alternate dimension, dinosaur-like creatures named Kaiju roam a warm and human-free world.

Fun fluff

As Scalzi said - this is a pop song made to be liked. It’s just fun.

Historia
In the city of Queen Mab, nothing is quite as it seems. Pariah, spy and Inquisitorial agent Alizebeth Bequin is all of these things and yet none of them. An enigma, even to herself, she is caught between Inquisitors Gregor Eisenhorn and Gideon Ravenor, former allies now enemies who are playing a shadow game against a mysterious and deadly foe. Coveted by the archenemy, pursued by the Inquisition, Bequin becomes embroiled in a dark plot of which she knows not her role or purpose.

Not one of Abnett’s best
Revisado: 05-03-21
This book left me wanting - the whole first ten hours are a way too long set up for the end of the book and, I assume, the rest of the series. It’s ok.

Historia
The planet of Caliban exists much as it has for thousands of years - the knightly orders protect the common people, fighting back the beasts that lurk in the depths of the seemingly endless forests. Young Zahariel and Nemiel aspire to join the greatest of the orders, led by the example of mighty Lion El'Jonson and his vision of a peaceful and unified world. But the coming of the Imperium brings new concerns and a new destiny for the Lion as part of the Great Crusade, and the sons of Caliban must decide if they will follow him to glory among the stars.

Snoozefest
Revisado: 12-01-19
This story is pretty darn boring - 8 hours of slooooow plodding backstory that feels like a 60s fantasy novel, followed by a couple hours of okay ish 30k stuff. Gareth Armstrong is a great narrator, but this story could be omitted completely from Horus Heresy and nobody would notice. I wish I had known to just skip this book and not waste a credit just because I didn’t want to miss anything for the next book (because Dan Abnett is the man).
