I loved the book and loved the narrator. I learned so much about Washington. We visited Mt Vernon many years ago so could picture and appreciate his love for his home and country.

I loved everything about this book! The only thing I found confusing was the names of Terry and Carrie. I thought they were the same person for awhile because of the similarity when being read aloud.

So disappointed.

After using a credit to purchase this book, and reading a previous book from the author, I was extremely disappointed after listening to the first 15 chapters.
After that I just could not listen anymore. It just seemed like an endless book that was never going to end with repeated themes over and over. It seemed silly to have the fairy tale going throughout the book when they could have said it all by speaking. The fairy tale at times was confusing and couldn't hold my attention.
I really wanted to like this book but felt like I wasted my credit.

I really would have loved this story if everything wasn't covered with so much sex talk! The story didn't need it ...... love, yes, but not intimate sec talk.

I agree with Jill! These ladies are hard to listen to AND couldn't they clean up their language and try to do better!

Couldn't make myself finish because of the narration and story. Story seemed so predictable and the narration was tiresome.

Enjoyed the book except for one big thing!

I enjoyed the book and how it kept my interest. Having at one time being a foster parent, I could totally understand the problems of troubled children and the frustrations that can go along with that. ...plus the problems with social services.
I say I enjoyed the book, BUT, the last thing I thought would happen would be the end of the book. It felt like the story had just been dropped in the middle of a page, like the author couldn't figure out how to end it! It made me mad that I had taken the time to listen to it because you never heard the end of the story or how or if it was ever resolved.
Some people may think that is a creative way to end. However, for me, it felt like I had been cheated.
