Not only is his voice Gollom and Smeagol to two generations, the way he voices all of the characters from Gandalf to the orcs is fantastic. And, it was a great tale to begin with.

In my 60+ years of reading there are very few I have read twice. This is my favorite. A great story: history, intrigue, romance, action, food, and more. His descriptions are delightful, e.g. grinding and brewing coffee at the beginning of part 3.

Senseless change of narrators

Excellent book!

It is a bit difficult to follow the minute details at times, but Churchill was such a compelling individual that the gravity of the man and the story carries one on. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and am anxious to start the last volume.

Well researched and performed. I learned a great deal that I had never heard of or studied about the "framers" and the Constitution, and I have a degree in History and Government and have been an attorney and judge for 40 years. This book educates and entertains! Every American should read it, although listening was much better!

Very Dark Psychological Thriller...

OK Read, but a bit gruesome.

I thought the author's view of the make psyche was a little odd and some of the details, i.e. about the restraining order did not ring true. The fractured personality was an interesting twist. It seemed odd that he escaped the abuse. If it was purely sexual sadism, perhaps, but abusive people abuse everyone in their sphere.
The performers voices for men seemed unrealistic, being a man. Her female voices were pretty good.
