Historia
Long before Dr. Fingal Flahertie O’Reilly made most listeners’ acquaintance in Patrick Taylor's best-selling novel An Irish Country Doctor, he appeared in a series of humorous columns originally published in Stitches: The Journal of Medical Humour. These warm and wryly amusing vignettes provide an early glimpse at the redoubtable Dr. O’Reilly as he tends to the colourful and eccentric residents of Ballybucklebo, a cozy Ulster village nestled in the bygone years of the early '60s.

Had to shut it off!
Revisado: 07-31-14
If you are a fan of the series, don't bother with this one. The story does not continue from the others, the time frame doesn't fit with the other books, key characters are strangley non-existent and, bluntly, it's very boring.

Hard to listen to, hard to turn off!
Revisado: 04-07-13
I have read all of Jodi Picoult's books and, like many others here, thoroughly enjoyed them with the exception of The Lone Wolf. I am truly a fan and watch for each new book to arrive. The atrocities in this story make it so difficult to listen to at times but it is such a compelling story and so well written that I couldn't stop listening.
The narration is first rate and adds much to the book. I have to say that my favorite character in this book is Leo - I just loved him! I would like to have a sequel to this book from his life and point of view.
The underlying theme of the nature and act of forgiveness is presented in such a thought provoking way toward the end of the book that makes you introspective. What would you do? I think you have to ask yourself what Minka would have done had she known all of the facts. She was a character with such strength and endurance but also realism and understanding.
Great job, Jodi, in creating characters that will stay with the reader and add such personal perspective to history. There are a couple of other observations I'd like to mention, but no one likes a spoiler.
Well worth the time and a credit!

Historia
Almost everybody who has grown up in Chicago knows about the Thorne Rooms. Housed in the Children’s Galleries of the Chicago Art Institute, they are a collection of 68 exquisitely crafted miniature rooms made in the 1930s by Mrs. James Ward Thorne. Each of the 68 rooms is designed in the style of a different historic period, and every detail is perfect, from the knobs on the doors to the candles in the candlesticks. Some might even say, the rooms are magic....

This is a children's book!
Revisado: 12-05-12
I chose this book because I am an avid miniaturist and I love the Thorne rooms but I was completely unaware from the description that this is a children's book. I have listened to many books narrated by Caroline Lee and she always does a good job but nothing could make me continue listening to this one.

Revisado: 12-05-12
I choose this book because of the narrator but I enjoyed it so much that I've just chosen another title by the same author. Very interesting period piece with characters who kept you invested and caring about what happened to them. The inclusion of silent pictures in the story and all of the detail in that was very interesting. Very enjoyable story! Moving on to the Golden Earrings with much anticipation.

As usual, Kate Morton has written an excellent story and without saying too much, "the secret" was one I never expected. Love her books and I think Caroline Lee is the best narrator I've encountered on Audible so far!

Great mystery!
Revisado: 11-10-11
Another great book from Lisa Gardner! Kept me hooked all the way through and I completely disagree with the previous reviews of the ending. I thought it was well crafted and I found it hard to turn off. I don't want to say more because I don't like spoiler reviews, but if you are one of Lisa's fans (and Bobby Dodge's) you won't be disappointed.

What a ripoff!
Revisado: 11-10-11
This "ebook" gives new meaning to SHORT story. The story is a very short portion of the stated time and it only lasts that long because it is read very slowly!
As a long-time Delinsky fan, I am deeply disappointed.

Revisado: 08-09-11
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I thought the characters were very well-written and I hated to see it end. How about a sequel from the Connie perspective?
This is only the 2nd book I've listened to from this author but I will definitely seek out others.

I am a big Maeve Binchey fan and have read or listened to almost all of her books. Unfortunately, this one is of such poor audio quality that it was impossible to enjoy. Even with best quality speakers turned up and anything else I tried, I had to give up. Very disappointing!

Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Revisado: 08-05-10
This book was excellent. The beginning seems a little rambling because you are being introduced to all of the players but you will quickly become engrossed. I only wish Ms. Morton had more than just these 2 books! I would have a hard time choosing a favorite between this and "The Forgotten Garden".
However, the title change to "The Shifting Fog" was very confusing.
