Riveting...
Revisado: 08-03-20
First - Sometimes narrating can make or break an audio book, no matter how much you love the author or how attention grabbing the synopsis of the book. Ms. Whelan did a great job with all the characters, male and female. This book grabbed me from the start and I found myself not wanting to take a break until it was over. There are heart stopping, heart wrenching and completely shocking moments throughout. Also as a veteran, thank you Ms. Hoag for continuing to shine a light on the matter of TBI and PTSD that my brothers and sisters fight with daily. You commitment is evident by your addition of resources at the end of this book. Thank you.

Great listen...crazy family tree.
Revisado: 07-31-19
I’m notorious for trying to figure out the end of a book before getting to the end. I’m happy to say I was wrong about who I thought was who!!!! This was my first listen from this author and I was pleasantly surprised. I was hooked from beginning to end....
The narrator did a pretty good job-especially with the make characters and accents.

Lover of Legal Thrillers
Revisado: 11-01-18
Was looking for another legal thriller fix to occupy my mind, as I listened to John Grisham's latest in a marathon listening session and I stumbled up Special Circumstances. The storyline will have you guessing until the end!!!
The narrator's voice is a plus...his inflections and cadences will make you feel like you're a part of the courtroom action.
I would recommend this book.

Another Grisham Masterpiece...
Revisado: 10-28-18
There probably isn’t a Grisham book that I haven’t read/listened to.
The Reckoning and especially the narration by Michael Beck grabbed me from the beginning. Mr. Grisham’s masterful storytelling is something to be studied and admired.
This is true Grisham suspense! So much so that I paused my listening to actually try to sort out the ending - and true to form the ending was a complete surprise. I loved everything about this book. The narration by Mr. Beck was spot on - capturing the dialect without trying to hard. The Reckoning belongs in the Grisham Masterpiece category. I absolutely recommend this book.

As a lover of legal thrillers, this is as good as it gets. I love that the author gave the characters depth and flaws. Gripping until the end! Looking forward to spending more time with Mr. Cage...

Couldn't put my earphones down....
Revisado: 08-25-15
Familiar with those struggling with PTSD, the author did a very good job describing the struggles and effects of PTSD on not only the soldier but to those who love them. I couldn't put my earphones down - wanting to know what happened to Nate; rooting for him and his family...hoping the good guys come out on top. I also know a lot about ALS....RIP Dad.

Revisado: 07-12-15
Another good one from Adam Mitzner!!! Legal thriller with unexpected twists and turns - bam!!! David LeDoux has the 'lawyer' voice - passionate when necessary, and does a decent job with the female roles.
