Acerca de esta escucha

One bad roll catapults them into a new world...

Five friends, gamers for life, gather for their usual game night. Yet, when they use a strange new die they are transported to a fantasy world where all gaming ideas can come true.

Together, the party must join forces to deal with the vile Necrolord whose plans will not only threaten this world, but Earth as well. Should be easy for a team of adventurers, but when gaming and real life meet, there are situations which cannot be anticipated.

Will Samo use science to solve all her problems? Will Wyatt always resort to violence? Will Bourbon discover lost treasure? Will Falcon restore his kingdom. Will Melf, the bard, find his pants?

All questions and more will be answered in the Fifth Era Apocalypse! A new action-packed and hilarious LitRPG Adventure from Ryan Rimmel, bestselling author of Noobtown.

One Bad Roll

Great read. very funny cast of characters. It has some very genuine laugh out loud moments. Jonathan McClain is awesome as always with his narrations.

Perfect for RPG Lovers

Ryan Rimmel does it again. I really enjoyed this new world. I liked all the characters. Listening to this book feels like you are in an incredibly fun d&d campaign. I love it!

Won't be continuing serries

This was meh. Never became invested in the characters. In the end, they were all annoying me.

This LitRPG is for you.

If you’ve ever played tabletop RPG’s then you would enjoy this. Reminded me of a campaign I played. Decent characters and a lot of funny moments.

Fantastically amusing

This goes right to the top of LitRPG comedy. Due to insomnia, I have many, many audiobooks, and RPG-style books hapoen to be my favorite. So, a gaming session starts, using the latest update of an old Tabletop gaming system. Think D&D versions 1, 2, 3, 3.5, 4 and 5. The players get stuck with an oldtimer DM that has been running games since the 1980's. They are joined by a new player that has a magic die of some type. They all start at a tavern. The new guy rolls to see if he notices anything, and rolls three nat20's in a row. And then the world changes. That's chapter 1.

From then on, the players are their characters in this fantasy world. A vast amount of the comedy is Character driven stuff, due to being a minotaur, gnome, elf, barbarian, mage, thief. Many of them built character based on trope, but there are drawbacks with that. Many adventures ensue.

No cringe, fun characters, interesting villains. Highly recommended. One of the Top Ten RPG books.

Former Player Characters make the best enemies

The Fifth Era Apocalypse system seems to be some mashup of D&D 5E and Pathfinder 2E which makes it more interesting.

The characters are a bit one dimensional in the beginning but they branch out a bit by the end. Looking forward to the tap dancing Tarrasque.

Meh

Performance was great but the story was just meh. It was derivative and predictable but it wasn’t bad.

very realistic on a gamer group

the characters are a very real group. these characters display everything I experienced in table top gaming. those people are why I don't game anymore. and this author wrote it good bad and ugly. didn't like it that much.

I want characters I can believe in...

I've finally figured out what's been lacking in the last couple of Ryan Rimmel books I've read... It's prolly been lacking in all of his books and I've read a lot of them, but just realized that I want more from a book than a few laughs.
I love action-driven storylines and a good plot which Ryan Rimmel exceeds in, and his stories are purdy funny... But that's where it all comes to a screeching halt, because without good characters, characters that I can believe in, I couldn't care less. So unless Ryan Rimmel fixes his ways, I'm done.
