Inspiring story for all runners
First of all I love it when an author narrates their own book. Hillary shares her story of tragedy and survival with such honesty. She paints a clear picture of what she was going through physically and mentally. As an Ultra Runner I can take a lot of the wisdom she shared here into the future.

Amazing comeback!
I had the privilege of meeting the author at the Chuckanut 50k in March 2022. She was so friendly and down to earth. I had heard her story several times before but not to this extent.
I can’t imagine the amount of courage, grit and pure determination needed to not only survive such an ordeal but to be able to make a comeback into the competitive world of ultra running.
Her honesty in this book shows how even though she is a top competitor in her sport, she is still human and has doubts and struggles like the rest of us.
I would highly recommend this to anyone even if you are not familiar with the running world. This story of courage is an inspiration for all!

Grandmother loved it
I got this for my 95 year neighbor who loved it. She is Hillary’s grandmother also in Colorado. Now it’s my turn to listen to it.

Good, motivating story
I liked this book, buy wish she had delved a little deeper into the tough parts...though I understand that is not easy

amazing story

Ultra life
Could not turn this off. Great hearing how Hillary Allen worked through her identity as a runner —but found she has an ultra-life, not only an ultra-running life. Don't think this is only a sports book, or a biography of someone coming back from a near death injury. This is a compelling read (or listen) for anyone wanting to hear about a person's perseverance and finding why she does what she does.

A must!
This book is everything! Wether you are a new or veteran runner or anyone who is doing some sort of training and you need motivation during a rehab from injury, need motivation to start something back up you have lost the luster for or trying to overcome a setback. This book is for you! So much motivation and courage in Hillary’s story. It will do nothing but inspire you!
