We continue the tale of Ross and Demelza; of the wayward Valentine Warleggan, whose existence keeps open the old wounds of the feud between Ross and George; of Bella, the Poldarks' youngest daughter, whose precocious talent as a singer is encouraged by her old flame, Christopher Havergal, and by a distinguished French conductor who has more in mind than Bella's music; of Clowance, the Poldarks' widowed daughter, who considers remarriage to one of two rival suitors; and of a murderer who stalks the villages of West Cornwall.

The Poldark Family Captured My Heart
Reviewed: 04-27-23
From Ross to Bella Poldark I've loved every story. The entire family captured my heart. I laughed and cried, and hated when each one came to an end. The narrator was outstanding, and I felt I could see the characters as he told the story. I was truly amazed at how he sounded the same for each character throughout all twelve books. I will absolutely listen to these again!

I felt such a range of emotion for the children in this story. Anger, sympathy, frustration, heartache. At times I was so engrossed in emotion I wanted to walk away, but I couldn't. As I type this I want to cry for the main character, and want to applaud her for her strength and courage at the same time. Great read!

Everyone needs a Miss Ella's! I loved her from the first to the last moment of this story. I smiled repeatedly throughout. I thought of my own strong, sweet, God fearing grandma as I heard Miss Ella's words. Great story!

Story
The hardscrabble folks of Troublesome Creek have to scrap for everything - everything except books, that is. Thanks to Roosevelt's Kentucky Pack Horse Library Project, Troublesome's got its very own traveling librarian, Cussy Mary Carter. Cussy's not only a book woman, however, she's also the last of her kind, her skin a shade of blue unlike most anyone else. Not everyone is keen on Cussy's family or the Library Project, and a Blue is often blamed for any whiff of trouble.
