The first three quarters of the book were pretty uneventful in the last quarter seemed... just not good.

Story
It has been 20 years since the end of the war. The dictatorial Augurs, once thought of almost as gods, were overthrown and wiped out during the conflict, their much-feared powers mysteriously failing them. Those who had ruled under them, men and women with a lesser ability known as the Gift, avoided the Augurs' fate only by submitting themselves to the rebellion's Four Tenets.

see title. this book is truly original and a ton of fun. the characters are all interesting. Most books you have the one companion that when you start hearing their narrative you want to almost shut off the book. there isn't one of those in this book. on to the next!

I am so happy that I bought this book. it is absolutely amazing. Mark Lawrence could be closing the distance between him and Brandon Sanderson for my favorite author.
